WILD - how far did I get?

Hello again

Last night I finally had some success with WILD(after 3 months?)! I ate some chocolate(like suggested in the candy topic), went to bed, relaxed, closed my eyes, started concentrating on an imaginary book and then it happened. I could barely feel my body, I started to shake and my sight was covered in black. I also felt my right eye started to move rapidly(REM I guess?). Then I opened my eyes like a dumbass and fell asleep without a LD

My question is - how far did I get in WILD?

Its difficult to say for sure since WILD is different for everyone, but based on my experiences, it sounds like you were just getting your foot in the door when you bailed. For me I reach the dreaming stage after I can’t feel my body at all and I have SP then you get all the swirly lights and colors. Sometimes you don’t get the shaking though, I think as you practice it more often you’ll be able to tell for yourself how close you are.

Common symptoms before entering dream state: sinking/floating feeling, vibrating and/or feeling like electricity is going up and down your body, SP accompanied by a feeling of your numb body swaying back and forth, hypnogagic imagry, weird noises, ect.

Just keep trying and keep your enthusiasm high, it will happen with time. You can also try mixing MILD and RC’s with it.

Good luck  ,

Do you have to get SP? I mean, I know it will happen eventualy to stop you from sleep walking, but do you definately have to have SP before you start to dream? Because i’ve never felt SP yet in my few WILD attempts.

No, you don’t have to get SP. In my attempts, I just felt my body to be very numb.

It seems SP happens at random for me, sometimes during WILD I get it and others I don’t. It helps to practice WILD often (both at initial bed time and WBTB) to help yourself get used to the odd new sensations you experience as your body shuts down.

though i haven’t gotten a LD ever yet, in all my attempts at wild, 60% of them end in a similar way that you described, problem is, i don’t actually fall asleep after, i just end up lying there untill it becomes unbarable, then move around and eventually fall asleep after waiting a while (usually something between 10min to an hour).

ive never managed to keep my mind on a single object before, (i always lose the visual of it) but ive gotten to a part where it feels like im moving within my mind in thick black, a few times it kind of scared me because there were what looked like a bunch of these twisted red zombie things all patterned along the walls of what fealt like my mind  . anyone know what that could be?
