So now I had a 2nd LD, was almost EXACTLY as the first, only difference is I did an RC in the 2nd one and got further with my flying (I really just spawned more down the road then last time) and I tried to change scenery which ruined it. I cant tell what exactly gave me the LD though.
So I went to bed trying WILD, I think I remember sitting up in bed and giving up on WILD then going back to bed normally, although im not sure lol. So in my dream I ‘spawned’ with the thought that im dreaming instantly (makes me think it was DILD) but instead of taking off in flight right away like last time I had, I looked at my hands and counted 7 fingers on my left hand (which makes it RCID?, except I was sure I was dreaming and the RC was just to stabilize/make sure) after counting my fingers I remember looking up and the dream becoming clearer.
So I tried a technique im sure ive never heard of to change the scenery/city, I tried flying through a wall with the thought of another city I know being on the other side, except once I came through the wall, I went straight into a dark void that was all black. I remember having enough time to try and think/imagine a new dream scene, and then after trying for a minute this just became negative thoughts saying I ruined my LD, then I woke up. Whats a better technique to use than this? I dont know why I used this one, it came to me as an instant thought and I just did it without thinking twice.
you could close your eyes or spin in circles and know you will be where you want to be when you open your eyes or stop spinning. you have to know what you want or else your dream will end. you could also try opening a door or create a portal to the city
If you want to change the scenery you can just look away and look back. It may not change into what you want on the first try, but you can do it over and over again. Getting to a black void is not necessarily the end of your dream, it may in fact be used to get exactly where you want. It is like “out with the old, in with the new”. Sometimes your scenery will remain the same because your brain wants to continue what it is doing, so an event that removes that pattern of thought can be just what you need. A fresh start. If you want to get to a specific location while you are in the void, I think it would be best not to try to get the big pieces of the puzzle at first. Instead, try to make something small to appear that is associated with the place you want to go, then anothing thing, and more and more things. Your brain will see the pattern and the associated pieces can trigger the whole schema of the place you want to go to. At least if you have managed to bring the smaller things, creating the rest of the scene will be the path of least resistance for your brain, and it is more cognitively economic than trying to imagine the whole scene at once. You should definitely not think that you have ruined your dream by entering a void. It can become a scene in a second.
I’d say being in a void is actually the easiest way to get anywhere. Just close your eyes, imagine where you want to be, and then open them and theres a good chance you will be there
Well, the most efficient way that I ever traveled was in my second LD. I took a baseball bat, and swung hard at midair. I broke the field I was standing in to a rainy city. Like the world was glass, get it?
