Ok, So I’ve been trying to WILD for a few days now.
I lay down on my back in my bed and have my hands together so my thumbs touch each other. well, just a few minutes after I lay down I get these muscel-contractions like when you are going to sleep. Then after that, my body goes numb, I can still move something if I want to but to relate with what I typed erlier, I can’t feel that my thumbs are touching each other.
The strange thing is that I get clearly awake in my head, even if I was really sleepy when I got to bed. so I lie there until I feel that It’s not going to work.
Anyone had a similliar experience or know what this means?
yes, that used to happen to me a lot… it just seems like you never are going to get to the next step of WILD.
i figured out that there are a few things that can cause this, one is that you just aren’t tired enough to be trying WILD. your mind is just too awake, and either your going to have to get up or your going to need a lot of patience. another is your sleeping position, i noticed that when this happened for me i usually tried WILD on my back as well. i don’t usually sleep on my back, and i thought the slight discomfort would help me keep my mind awake. but i tried sleeping how i normally do (side or stomach) and found WILD is much easier when you are completely comfortable. so if you don’t normally sleep on your back you might wanna change positions to how you normally fall asleep. it is definitely harder to keep your mind awake completely comfortable, but your body falls asleep a lot easier.
Thanks alot CCHawk!
It’s precisely as you say!
Ordinary I sleep on my side against the wall, but when I’ve tried WILD I’ve been doing it on my back. Why I’ve been sleeping on my back is that I can keep my hands together in a comfortable way, and I notice quicker if my body is falling asleep when I can’t feel my thumbs touching.
I’ll try this tonight when I go to sleep, I realy hope it works
Same with me. I have “accidentaly” WILDed before on my side about 4 times. I tried to sleep on my back and WILD and I would get convulsions and be uncomfortable. I seems to me that sleeping on my right side helps me WILD…
It’s just what happens during a WILD, it wil happen almost every time. It’s just the excess energy built up in your body being released. Just try not to focus on it and it won’t bother you. I notice it but I don’t let it grab my attension for too long.
Its true of course, wild u must do on the side that is for you the most relaxing one.
For me thats on my back but for others that can be tot different etc.
So dare to experiment, because in the end it has to be your way how you do things! We all differ a bit as individuals.
I usually WILD when I sleep on my stomach, but there’s also a big chance that I might fall asleep insted since it’s so comfortable. If I try to WILD when sleeping on my back I’m usually more awake and sometimes I can’t WILD properly and I just stay inside HI. But that’s still fun, it’s just like watching a tv that you can controll For some reason I almost never sleep on my side so I don’t really know what it’s like to WILD while sleeping on my side.
And if you can sleep in a car or bus, you can try to WILD there. I find it very easy to get HI there. I just sitt still until I start getting HI and sometimes even a really short dream. But the bus-ride to school is too short so I never really have enough time to enter a dream properly
i’ve noticed the same thing about being in a moving vehicle, for some reason that’s the only place i can be comfortable in any position. comfort is the main thing i’ve found for wild… the hardest part is keeping your mind awake while being comfortable.
Hey guys!
here’s an update.
I woke up at 5am this morning because a dream ended. I sat up to write the dream down and when I lay back down, I thought to myself that I should try to WILD.
I laid on my back since this gave better results than on my side…
When I lay there I first got numb in my body, then I started to feel this tingling in my right leg… from the ankle and up to my knee…
then It started in my left leg…
at the same time I started to see lightnings at the far ends of my closed eyes
since I never came this far before, I got to exited and without realizing it, I opened my eyes and then it was to late
I lied still in that possition for half an hour before I got tired of nothing happening and rolled over…I’m going for an afternoon nap right now and this time I will succeed.
I’ll be back for an update in a few hours! wish me good luck
Argh…
Update.
Well, I totally lack dicipline so I fell asleep when I got to bed…
Then I woke up and remembered that I failed with the WILD so I decided to try again.
I couldn’t get past the “numb-stage”…I get there realy realy quick, like 2 minutes or something, then I can’t feel my body anymore, but if Im not realy tired, I have hard problems of going past that stage…
