WILD?

Last night, I attempted WILD. It wasnt in combination with WBTB Though, I just did it “individually”. It wasn’t even on purpose as in “Hey Im gonna WILD now”. I just lay down for a couple of minutes and suddenly the thought came up I hadnt moved for like 15 minutes. So I thought … Lets make a WILD out of this (Although it would be very hard since I wouldnt go directly into REM, It’d be possible). After another 10 minutes, I noticed I didn’t feel my hands anymore. I knew I could move them if I wanted though. I remembered that I put one hand on my bed and the other… I couldn’t remember if it was under my belly (I slept on my belly) and on my bed, or on my back! I couldn’t feel that either. My hands felt like they didn’t exist. I thought that might be SP. After a while, no HI and no progress later, I decided to move. If I really had SP I would be unable to, and if I didn’t - well, I didn’t have much to lose. I was getting sick of over 45 minutes of WILDing. Anyways, I moved, and it seemed like it was hard to at first but at the second “try”, I moved and I flipped over to my side and fell asleep normally.

Was I close? Let’s say this was a WBTB WILD, would it only have been minutes until I successfully entered an LD? I’d like some more information on this.

that sounds weird… My first guess would be SP, but in low portions. Maybe your body was starting to release the chemical to make SP possible while you were still semi-awake. You could’ve easily broken out of it with effort. As for close to a LD…if this had happened when you were in your REM stages of sleep, then you would’ve become lucid in your dream no doubt. It looks like you have WILD down pretty good, and you have found your own personal way of doing it.

However, since you did do this before even starting sleep, you had a very high decrease in chances. You can’t WILD into a dream, when there is no dream. The only way you could WILD when you first go to bed is if your body feels like it is just taking a “nap”. If that happens, then you will directly enter REM. I may be wrong though…

Anyways, you look like you are just about there. All you need is to use WBTB and you are set. Good job and good luck!

Look, if you can’t use WBTB it’s all ok too. I don’t use it and managed to LD with WILD by itself. I didn’t have any progress for the first tries. I’d do just like you, feel a slight change here and there and lay down woken up for a long time. I guess it’s just a matter of getting used.

Well this has been debated in so many different threads. Therefore, I am not going to go into deep detail here. But:

A) Yes, you can do WILD at bedtime. It may take longer and you have to practice.
B) You can dream in non-rem sleep. However, those dreams may not be as good as REM dreams.
C) The only state you can not dream in is deep delta sleep. However, you can maintain consciousness in this state. Everything will be black. This is what we call the void and all you have to do is wait for dreaming to start.

It sounds to me like you were making some progress so keep it up and try different things. You will eventually learn to feel your way through WILD.

I found that lying on my belly works like a charm. It’s like all itches that wanna come can be just thought away when I’m in that position. I tried it agian last night (Again without WBTB ) and this time I got falling sensations and my phosphenes went crazy at first and I got HI later.

WILD is very confusing.

Maybe you have succeded and forgot some parts.
The WILD concentration sometimes puts that tricks on us, because you think that you were only concentrating and didn’t realise at the dreaming periods.
