WILDing is easy; sleep paralysis question

Be prepared for a wall of text :
Hey, before I talk about my progression on sleep paralysis , I want to talk to you guys on how easy having a WILD lucid is. A few reason why someone would consider it hard can either be because scary things has happened to people who’ve tried it or because they’ve tried it before with no results. well for the 1st part what im going to do next time I see something scary in sleep paralysis im going to laugh at it. laughing is the cure for everything. For the second part, usually the reason why WILDing doesn’t work is because you try to WILD to early or to late. I had the same problem, until I found this app for Android called " lucid dreaming app" which tells you your rem cycles after recording around 3 nights of sleep in there. this really works. im not going to go into details on what it is because i’ve made another thread solely on that ap. the thread is called " Finding your REM cycle".

Time for the sleep Paralysis question. But before that (lol ) let me tell what happened last night. I woke up like around 4 -4:15 and checked my phone for my next Rem cycle. It said my next one was going to be from 4:40 to 5:00. so I readied my self By first doing some math problems for like 5-10 on my phone so i ca increase awareness. then I read some threads on this forum and another forum website (dreamviews. com) for the remainder of the time. I started to get light headed (well i started to feel light headed) around 4:35. I stopped reading through Forums at around 4:37 (it goes without saying but i was still lightheaded. and i didn’t move from my bed either. i just did math problems and read threads from my bed) and closed my eyes. I said in my mind " mind awake, body asleep" for like 1 minute 30 seconds until i heard a faint buzzing sound. then my feet started going numb. And I did the thing i regretted the most. moved. My heart was racing and I couldn’t help but think of horrifying things. so i knew the moment i was in full paralysis I would be scared shitless. When I moved the buzzing stopped and i wasn’t lightheaded anymore.

My questions: 1. Do you hear buzzing sound as soon as sleep paralysis starts taking over or is it after it has taken over your whole body?
2. are you supposed to feel lightheaded when your REM cycles about to happen?
3. If i heard the buzzing sound, does that mean I’m not going to hear any other sounds besides that?
4. How do you not accidentally go into an OBE? I want to go to a lucid dream, not an OBE!!
5. should i keep my mind clear, keep saying my Mantra or think about what i want to lucid dream about?
6. Is there any techniques on how to not to be scared and stay calm during sleep paralysis?
7. is your heart supposed to be racing before entering sleep paralysis?
Thank you if you took the time to read everything and answer my question. I would love it if you answered all my questions but I would be grateful even if you answered one of them. I hope i helped people on getting lucid. as for me, i think WILDing is going to be my main technique ( more specifically WBTB)

I have exactely the same feeling. Today I heard a really loud buzzing, while on paralysis.

It was the first time I tryied to sleep 6 hours, stay awake for 1h then go back to bed. The first time I was lucid in paralysis I tryied everything. Teleport, spin to change the dream landscape, saying “This is a dream, I want to move.”, nothing would stop this buzzing and this really warm feeling… It`s kinda unique!

I woke up, then I tought: Maybe I forced it too early, maybe my body wasnt fully asleep. Next time this happens I`ll just stand still. It happened right after this, I standed but woke up…

The third time it happened, in a sequence all today morning, I got able to get out of bed flying and have an awesome lucid dream… Actually, it all seemed alike the first two times, but this third time I was just more loose, I was trapped to the bed only by my head, everthing else was just really loose, then I tryied to SPIN really slowly, and suddenly I managed to get out…

Maybe you should try that, calm yourself, and try spinning really slowly. If it doesnt work, try spinning fast, maybe you will change everything and land in another place, still lucid.

I feel the fast heartbeat, I feel my whole body different, I feel the blood pumping… Its really unique, Ive learned to enjoy it, since I`ve had sleep paralysis since I was a kid, but have been aware of LD techniques about 2 week ago…

The “term” I`ve came up with is a “brain that tingles”, and spreads to your whole body.

The technique I`ve developed for all those years, before even knowing that other people had paralysis also, is contracting all your muscles to wake up. Use all your strengh, and you will wake up. This is if you are felling scared and wants a way out!

yes i have stumbled across dream views a couple times. SOMETIMES i hear the buzzing sound when I go into sleep paralysis (my first time i accidently lucid dreamt (before I knew about LD’ing) I felt like I was hovering up and i heard a buzzing sound and I tried to shout for help but nothing happened. I LEGITAMITLY thought I was being abducted by aliens (which makes me think… if i thought that… maybe OTHER people thought that, except I know to get out of a nightmare or ANY dream, you just close your eyes really hard, so i ended up doing that. im sure a lot of people dont know about that, so they prob freaked out and thought of aliens, and next thing you know, they are LD’ing about being abducted,

they dont have marks from it, well… cuz it was a dream!

it felt real… well cuz it was vivid and you were lucid!

so yes, the buzzing does come with it sometimes, but 2 nights again, I slept (I have it on my dream journal in description) I slept and I felt my legs being spread apart (so i thought someone busted into my inn) PART of me wanted to open my eyes to look… but i also thought my mind was playing tricks on me (yes i was scared lol it felt like someone was spreading my legs apart gently so i wouldnt wake up!!)

Regardless i stood still cuz i knew if checked or moved. id have to RESTART all over again and staying mentally awake is a bit challenging for me.

Anyways I end up on the floor (or so i thought… than I felt like I was sleeping on my desk (like someone studying all night and falling asleep)

after a while i REALLY thought i was at my desk so i said "you know what… this isnt worth it, im going to move to my bed, so i move my arm and i feel wierd… i stand up I look at my hands (i always reality check my hands all the time) and i had 3 fingers n a stub! so i check the mirror (NEVER used that reality check in a dream so i was curious haha and i looked, looked away, looked back and 95% of my hands were invisible but my body was all their, so i walk straight into a wall knowing it wont hold me back and bam im lucid but i end up in a random room where I go with it (instead of making my own scenario and i called for my dream guide, (my dream journal has the rest so check it out) but i end up waking up and I imagine it and i go and revisit the place.

  1. I dont feel light headed… I start to hear a lot of random voices talking and my body feels a bit more numb… i start to ‘forget’ about my hands and legs.

  2. when i heard buzzing all sound has stopped and all i heard was a STRONG buzzing sound. (transitional phase of sleep paralisis to a dream.)

  3. my first obe was 2 nights ago. BUT i DO recall having another my FIRST time lucid dreaming (before i knew what it was) but since i didnt know… i just felt like someone was pulling me off my bed… i end up falling off and a spider crawls onto my bed… hella wierd how i get pulled off… i was a bit scared but at this point i develop ‘numb’ feelings and i dont dare look back… i just… dont.

  4. You know I have been asking myself that lately!! NOW i write my goals and I think about what ill say to ensure i wont forget. than I say to myself “I WILL lucid dream” I WILL call for my dream guide" I WILL stay mentally awake!"

I especially say i will stay mentally awake.

I than just after a bit of it i just look at the colors as a whole (meaning I dont focus) and I just wait and watch them change, than i hear mild voices (mild meaning low sounding) and they get louder and more frequent (usually when they are mild they happen at random unpredictable times.

6.Honestly I dunno… I never thought much about it being the cause of it scaring… until i started to read these forums haha im only scared cuz I always think someone can sneak in at night (i put a couch to block the door) so i figure that would help. but just enjoy the ride and always tell yourself that SP can NEVER EVER hurt anyone. the more you worry about it, the higher the probabilty the ride wont be as enjoyable. so just remember you WILL be alright. SAY it to yourself WHILE its happening (oh snap! ha thats what I do!)
7. Honestly 2 nights ago was the only super intense time i ever had, the VOICES were LOUD and FREQUENT I never heard so many it really was intense. but I just stayed still, it was pretty wild… lol

lol, no pun intended

hey friendlyguy, I had already read you dream! haha, the one about the shotguns, right?

Well, considering this is a post about paralysis, I have a question…

90% of the times I become lucid, I instantly teleport to my bed on the same position, paralysed.

Is this a transition? Should I focus and wait or try to Spin? Should I struggle?

I tryied all of this, but haven`t had it enough times to make a “rule” to follow…

I have already tryied “believeing” that its a dream, already knowing that I AM lucid, but it just doesnt work... Cant move! Sometimes, after a while, I get out, then I have a 1-2min LD, and for me its a really waste of time all that struggling and trying-to-get-out of paralysis, cause I lose lot`s of LD time…

Any tips?

oo0o hey im a bit confused with THIS type of forum… i cant seem to find out how to be notified of a new message… add me on yahoo messanger in case. l3g1tsanchez@yahoo.com (this goes for anyone else in help of Lucid dreaming)

ok and for ur answer Yeah totally dont worry, its the same way for me at times. You are in the paralysis PHASE. so just like any other phase it takes time, it all varys, you just got to wait patiently whilst thinking of where you want to be (dont think hard, just ignore the SP) dont try to struggle because it wont work.

BUT after a good amount of time (ASSUMING Your still in it) Its a good idea to just Move your eyes around (you know when someone is spinning you on a chair, the movement your eyes make EVEN when your eyes are closed?JUST like that! while imagining where you want to be and than open your eyes :cheesy:

usually i just ride it out though.

I’ll try and answer these as clear and specific as possible, but first let me tell you what I think:

WILD is most definitely not easy - unless you have enough time for it and practice it a lot. Even then that might not be easy, as WILD requires a lot of self confidence and, most important, self control. I believe you’re in that stage of WILD where everything works well and stuff, which is why you find WILD ‘not impossible’. But please, listen to me, after each mountain there’s a valley - just be ready to face it.

I’m not sure what you mean by ‘buzzing’. When I reach SP that’s my spot where I ‘get in’. SP pulls me in and if I stay calm enough I’ll end up in a dream. There are people who, after having got SP, still remain IRL with it a bit, before they get pulled in. I’m not sure what I hear though, it might be a buzzing actually, though I’d better describe it as the sound of my blood flowing through my ears ‘louder’ than usul.

What does lightheaded mean exactly ? Do you feel your head clear and comfortable ? If so, I guess that’s a good sign anyways, a sign of your mind preparing itself to sleep. I’ve never used that app or something similar to it to know my REM cycles.

See answer number 1. Do you also get pulled in the moment SP strikes, or does it stay a bit with you IRL until it drags ? If it’s right away, then you shouldn’t be hearing anything else anymore, as this ‘version’ of WILD is HH-less.

I know what you mean, honestly I do. It’s really easy to choose the path of a LD and not the one of an OBE actually. If you simply follow the pulling feeling / traveling sensation of the SP, you’ll most certainly end up in a LD. For an OBE you would have to use body exit methods within the SP or right before it strikes, which can get complicated.

Well, I imagine myself the dream destination. While you’re lying there, I believe it’s very important to think of where you want to end up in your LD. That way you’ll have a stable entrance and be carefree of eventual unpleasant places the dream might have got you in.

The idea is to focus only on the feeling generated by the SP, the feeling of you being pulled inside your mind by invisible energy. It’s hard to explain but I’m sure you know what I’m talking about since you’ve experienced this before. Try and imagine your destination as you go into SP and think of what you would want to do.

That’s indeed a very common expression for something new, something outo of the ordinary. It usually happens when SP ‘gets you’ a bit more awake, which is why it can happen to anyone. The idea of WILD is for SP to come in once you’re semi-awake, not fully, so that you’ll get conscious through the feeling of SP itself and then continue the experience with calm and relaxation.

I really hope I helped and wish you good luck on your journey for WILD mastering !

Take care,
Don
