changed title to "Would like dream analysis on dream (new title)"was “I just had a VERY long dream” - since some posters were discussing dream length and not the contents.
Does anyone here do dream analysis? I could use a little help.
-on a futuristic space ship. One large common area 2 bedrooms
-Other occupants are my mother, my auntie, slightly older version of my little cousin (abt 8 years old) and some random guy in his late 20s who jumped out of the craft door to commit “suicide” in the first month but comes back to save us and lead us to earth.
-Space ship reminds me of a lifeboat, limited amount of supplies, must conserve food (water isn’t even thought about in my dream)
-Rarely do I get hungry and I never got thirsty
-Never had to sleep
-I remember on part of the dream flashing to a rememberance ceremony for me at my highschool.
-When I get back 7 months of earth time had passed. It’s a new semester in highschool, everyone is elated to see me. However I look different…… My hairline is receeding, I look a little banged up like I was getting into fights and I got a little bit chubbier. I just look like 5 or 6 years older.
I remember breaking down and crying for no reason during one of the class
cliffs: Stuck on a spaceship for what felt like 7 months in the dream. Like it actually felt like it was going on forever. In real life time, the dream took place between 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM.
Are you sure dream time didn’t skip? Sometimes dreams can feel like a year, but if you were to count the number of seconds you were dreaming you’d only count like 10 minutes. Dreams can also give you false memories which add to the illusion of a really long dream.
I didn’t want to be on this spaceship, it felt like I was trapped almost like jail. I seriously have no idea what this means. My relationships with all my relatives is quite good, no unresolved problems or anything. I remember the dream taking forever, it probaly did skip though your right, but I had no way of counting seconds or anything cause it definitely wasn’t lucid. I wasn’t learning anything, I was just stuck surviving on little food and water for what felt like an eternity… It really wasn’t a pleasant experience.
Possibly you are worried about the economy? There has been talk that the current situation is similar to the Great Depression. Consider:
You are alone with your family. In a horrible depression, most of your friends would probably be too busy looking out for themselves to help you. There is only one stranger with you for whatever reason, who soon kills himself out of depression.
Furthermore, you have limited rations and must conserve your food. That also fits into my explanation. However, you yourself don’t need to eat/sleep/whatever, symbolizing that you yourself aren’t feeling the effects of this recession everyone’s talking about.
The school bit could possibly show how the events changed you.
That’s one idea. I don’t really know you, so I have no idea how accurate that is. You really have to do it yourself.

now both the dreamer and the stranger disappeared for a period and then returned. A rememberance service is usually done after a death esp when there can’t be a proper funeral (as would be the case of the stranger leaving the ship or the dreamer being lost in space).
So if it was my dream, I would think it represented me feeling different to my peers probably through something I have experienced.
But as Lleu said it is difficult to interpret a strangers dream especially when there isn’t a lot of dream detail or knowledge of the dreamer’s background.
I’ve recently grown apart from my best friend of 3 years… I’m starting to wonder if he could be the stranger. It felt like it was just me him and my family, then it was just my family.
