For some reason this “technique” seems to work extremely well for me, I believe I have had a lucid dream about 90% of the time while doing like this - basically, I just write down my last dream in the middle of the night if I happen to wake up at that time, while staying in bed and without even turning on any lights, then immediately fall back to sleep and just think about random events from that dream - and find myself in a lucid dream.
Do you know why this seems to work so well for me?
What’s the theory behind it?
I agree that it’s pretty hard, but I try to spread out and separate all fragments from each other on the sheet.
It took some practice, but I eventually started developing a feel for it.
That is a part of MILD where you record your NLD and then when you go to asleep as you falling asleep you think about the dream, you imagine the scenes and even you imagine yourself becoming lucid and then what would you do and how would the dream end…
It’s a powerful technique. Imagination do wonders here. Even better if you can maintain awareness for some time…
I tried to write down a dream in the middle of the night once… but with the light on.
In the morning when I woke up I read it… well tried to atleast.
Only a few words… haha
I used to try that, my lines would get all mixed up and I had no idea whatsoever what was written. Now I use my ipod to type out key words. It has some light, but better than turning on a lamp. I hope to find a DJ app some day that has dark background AND dark keyboard as that would help.
But yeah, it helps me a lot too, I guess it’s just the WBTB principle of getting some awareness and going back to sleep.
Mattias, I don’t know how similar they are, but on my iPad and iPhone you have the option of inverting the colours so you can have white on black. Should be in the accessibility menu.
