Yay~! First ld since finding LD4all .. low lucidity and FLDs

What a surreal experience!
It’s actually rather true, what they say… I got my first ld (ever since finding out about this site, I’ve had a few briefly before…) once I stopped trying, … The last thought before I fell asleep was

’ Well… it’s about 2am, I wake up at 7:50… I have about…3…4…5…6…7… 5 hours of sleep… you need 8 hours of sleep a day… is that why I only sleep 3 hours when I nap? 5 hours of sleep… that’s enough for REM… I think-- Zzz

I didn’t attempt WILD this time-- didn’t have enough energy…

Hah, Then in the middle of my dream… I did a rc, and sure enough, I went lucid… Weird though, because breathing through your nose while you’re holding it is sort of odd, like breathing through short valves,

I dunno if anyone gets that either…Sad I didn’t get too much control of the dream, I just seemed to be able to control my reactions to the dream itself, I didn’t seem to be able to materialize anything, or change the scene… so I went with the flow-- It was insane!
But the thing is, I didn’t seem to notice after the first bit, weird things… just, I retained the memory it was a dream and nothing could hurt me…I felt obligated to finish the dream, by killing off the evil within it. (didn’t happen, just ended up relaxing on the beach, cause I knew the dream would be over soon and relaxed till I woke up a few minutes later…)

Has someone else ever realised they were lding, but failed to realise odd things happening? How do you tell a lucid dream, from a normal dream ( that just so happens to be about you realising you were dreaming) if you can’t change the enviroment?

~ Anyways, any input would be appreciated.
Talon.

You probably had a low-level LD. With practice, you will get better.

This post is undeniable proof that WBTB rocks.

oh, XD k’dokie…
But I went straight to bed, I usually take my naps midday and wake up for a few hours…

Maybe it’s just undeniable proof that ld4all rocks!

It sounds to me like a low-level one too… My thinking just varies incredibly from dream to dream. Sometimes I can think as clearly as when I’m awake, and sometimes I get that groggy “3…4…5…6…7…5” type of thinking… Sometimes I remember exactly what I want to do, and sometimes I run around like a lunatic… :nuu:

really? haha! I hope I get more lds so I can say the same… XD

well,I’ll keep trying to get there… the higher lucidity will come by itself… right?

~ Anyways, much thanks.

That’s how my first two are, I just know I’m dreaming. But I haven’t really tried change anything. I did feel money materialize(sp?) in my hand/pocket tho. I gave the money to a DC of my sis.

So are you better at lding now?

cool

Congrats!!
I think becoming more aware will definately come with practice. Keep doing RCs and trying WILD and whatnot, too. When you do become lucid next trying yelling “more lucidity now!” or running your hands on something really textured. It will make the dream more real and will make you “wake up” more in the dream.
Good luck!

First of all, congrats on your LD!

In many LD’s, your brain is not fonctionning exactly like IRL, so that you often have a dream logic. You can realize you’re dreaming but find it completely normal to talk with a cat. But you can in some case have a complete realisation it’s a dream and think logically like IRL or remember waking life memories. That’s why it’s said that there are different levels of lucidity.

The main thing in LD’ing is realising you’re dreaming, which is accompanied by a feeling of presence. Controlling the environment is a plus. Experience enhances it.

Did I answer your questions?

Yes! very much so ^^ Thanks so much Basilus
I’ll remember that next time…

~ Much thanks for all of those replies!

Brilliant~! Thank you ^^ thatsort of bugged me, how everything seemed a bit blurry when I was in a part of that dream… do you think yelling increase lucidity will help me gain more control over it?

Much thanks,
~Talon.

Well yeah, either yelling or telling yourself to sharpen the dream. You have to find a way to increase your awareness, and like I said “wake up” so do something that would make the dream more real to you. I guess if yelling mght freak you out or literally wake you up, you could take a deep breath and stabilize the situation around you. Things should clear up when you really relax and get into the dream, thus also giving you control.
I hope that helps

That’s awesome!
And no, yelling won’t freak me out… and shouldn’t wake me up. I just hope I don’t ACTUALLY yell, I might wake my dad up ( Sleep paralysis keeps you from moving, does it stop you from talking? O-o; ) But yus ^^ I will definately try it next one I get, Maybe tonight~!
My first lucid dream really showed me my pattern though, most of the time, I have animals in my dreams!

Thanks for all the support~!

I love how kind this forum is…

Wow so how long has it been sience u figured out about the site?

Umm… maybe 2 1/2 weeks or so?
The first night I found out, I tried WILD, with GREAT progress, I almost got there (without really, realising, after reading more, I was like “DANG, I almost did it!” ) the hypagognic imagery was intense, and I was fully consious, Then, I started seeinga white light in the bottom left corner and felt like I could “see” but eventually… pllbptth I got too excited and opened my eyes, in a vain attempt to see if I would wake up in the dream world. did a RC. nada.

I’ve been practicing on and off, as much as possible, but some night, I’m too tired or I forget… ( silly medlodramatic Middle School… how sad.)

Ah well-- This site has been profoundly helpful, and even if I’m not nearly as far as a good number of people on this forum, I feel no intimidation ( as I have felt in other sorts of forums… not relating to dreams, of course) and feel so… ~Blah-- Happy, I suppose. ^^ It’s fun, yus…

But to answer your question directly, I think I found out about the site on Oct. 29th, or the 28th, I think…

lol yah, felt like i had and extra pair of nostrils or something.Kinda like tubes.

I’m havin a crap load of trouble controlling things in my dreams. The last realy realy vivid one i had all i could do was think normaly but not change what i was doing. o well only bin trying for about a week so i’ll get it soon…I hope.

Hehe, after a bit, the reality checks become clearer and clearer though, I’ve had like… over 10 lucids, maybe even 12 if I didn’t count right since then, and it just feel like I breath right though my forearm, even clearer than I could irl.

Imagine that? XD

It got easier with me once I let go of the whole being slightly upset when I do or don’t go lucid. Once I practiced quite a bit, I got past the 3rd of 4th lucid dream, things stabilized and I got better use of it all…
The 3rd dream was spinning out of control (at least I think it was the 3rd). It helped me control my own actions better by concentrating on myself rather than surroundings, then after that was done if stuff was stable, I would try new things…

After a few of controlling my own movement, I tried flying with wings! eventually, I just controlled myself and a bit around me, and that resulted in me being able to fly well… so yay!~ I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it after a few more lucids, worked for me :3…
