Your computer might be in DANGER!!!!!

Recently, i decided that there must be something wrong in my comp as it was unbearably slow so i decided to turn the page and get a proper firewall and security programs.

What was my surprise when i did an ad aware scan.

768 EVIL programs.

From that i decided to do a proper thing and now i decided to share my protection.

Heres 4 programs you should get.

Ad Aware

That is a very good program you can use to remove many harmful bugs on your comp. ATTENTTION: You might encounter problems when deleting stuff with this one. If the program freezes on deleting, just run it in safe mode and it should work.

Zone Alarm

Award winning FREE firewall.(You get 15 days free trial of the PRO version which you can buy if you want but the firewall is free.)

SpyWare Doctor

Another very good program to counter harmful thigns on your comp. This one has to be registered to remove them but its on-guard mode is very usefull and it has good immunization option. Very good as you can remove the spywares with other programs but with this you can kill them before they get you.

Spybot -Search&Destroy

Very good spyware deleter with excellent immunizer too. It found some serious spywares what other didnt found.

So, My comp was infected with that many harmful programs. How many do you have and how much time you have until it is completetly ruined by harmfull programs.

Act fast, be safe.

Simple F-Secure isnt enough so i suggest you to get this team or others too. If you want shaking up, my previous comp was completetly destroyed by virus/spyware.

IT DELETED EVERYTHING IN MY WINDOWS FOLDER.

I had to do a very big repair operation on it.

I posted all this for you to wake up and act before its too late.

Hope it helps someone.

Don’t forget the virus protection.

I use AVG (AVG free edition). I don’t know is this still downloadable from their site, but at least they offer free trial version: grisoft.com/doc/trial/lng/us/tpl/tpl01

Just scanned with Hitman pro A program that automatically runs: <>

Ad-Aware SE 1.06 Personal (Freeware), Plus en Professional Lavasoft
Spybot Search & Destroy 1.4 Freeware PepiMK
Spy Sweeper 3 en 4 (1 Proefversie en abbonementsversie Webroot
Spyware Doctor 3.2 Lite versie en abbonementsversie PC Tools
CWShredder 2.15 Freeware InterMute
SpywareBlaster 3.4 Freeware Javacool Software
Spyware Block List Freeware SpywareGuide
Sysclean Package Freeware Trend Micro
SuperDAT VirusScan PrimeSupport overeenkomst vereist McAfee

A lot of program rite? Well turns out only 2 spyware elements were found on my pc :content:.

And hitman pro has a damn high catch rate =|

I haven’t had spyware in about a year, seems like a popup blocker pretty much completely stop spyware from entering your computer. So either firefox or internet explorer with servicepack 2 for xp. Now I only find a few cookies each time I scan for spyware… :cookiemon:

They have made a alternative website for the free edition of AVG.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! why on earth does everyone go on about avg!!! its avg’s fault that i had to wipe my comp and lose all of my files ahhhhhhhhhh!!!. i downloaded a simple game from download.com and when i stated up my computer the next time this big black thing covered my screen say Warning: you are at serious risk. and in small print it said click here for removel details, so i clicked it. and guess what came up when i clicke dhte link? yes, you got it, its was the AVG download page, also every time my comp stated aol automaticly stated and i was flooded with abut 12 ads (4 AVG) everytime i stated my computer so i had to wipe it, i hate you AVG damn you to hell!!!

768 evil programs??? Mine starts acting slow w/ about 10…It’s so hard too because I so wanna click on interesting links but I’m afraid what my computer might catch

I know my computer has a couple of evil programs on it. Mainly because of the ads that keep on popping up every time I use IE (every minute or so, another two or three ads apear).
Yet no matter how many times I scan my computer, I can’t find 'em…

I’ve got aorund this by using Firefox instead though .

Firefox is good cause of the…what are they called in english…those…damn…mmh…when you open a new link on new screen but it still uses the same firefox programs…argh i cant explain… those bars that appear below your address bar.

Well anyway, Anti Virus programs pretty much suck, my F-secure managed to find a one trojan and was not even able to remove it. Grr…

And they have many problems, my dad told me a story which happened few weeks ago:

He was on his work comp, when soon F-Secure found a Norton advertisement screensaver on his mailbox!!
For that, F-secure deleted his whole mailbox. 4 years of business mail cause there was a norton advertisement screensaver there. This pretty much shows what they add in their “virus” list files on f-secure. It is sure that it deleted it just cause it was a competeting companys ad.

Search & Destroy is a great program, once a month. I also manage the registry, this is a good way to find viri.

Tabs?

Thank you

I once had 14oo spyware programs on my computer…ever since then I scan for viruses and spyware weekly
I like to use Norton System Works to check for viruses and my computer’s health, plus spybot and adaware. Oh, and I alos use Firefox. It’s way more secure than say, Internet Explorer, which I highly recommend no ever use again in the entire world

Anything what microsoft does works poorly…If they just wouldnt send their army of lawyers on everyone who likes to do a similar operating system as windows we would prolly have a working one…

WMP = Sux0rz
Winamp = Rox0rz

Don’t get me wrong, windows is nice (to me), I just wish they’d though more about backwards compatibility between XP and the earlier versions…I can’t play half of my computer games anymore

Download a Win 9x Emulator… they are out there, available 4 XP… Only I don’t know where they are >_<.

I’ve tried that, but I can’t run it full screen, and I have to reinstall all my old drivers, which I’ve misplaced.
If I get desparate enough I’ll just put a windows 98 partition in my hard drive.

in XP you can also set programmes to run in compatibility mode for older windows versions,it works for most of my old games.

edit: (my r button’s not working too well)

I tried that to, but the game I like most wont work that way, because it’s incompatible with windows NT and thats what XP is based on.
