Your Technique For Attaining Lucidity

Hey! Tis BrandonBoss! I have been looking throughout the whole internet for things related to LDing and have been pretty involved in LDing for about a year now. I knew you guys were around, but didn’t really have time to delve in and see what techniques you use, or what types of LDs you guys have.

I was really hoping that lots of you could give me a good idea of what you do to get lucid. Like this:
Each day, I wake up and tell my wife my dreams, during down time, I will go over them and/or be on the internet looking up things relating to LDs. When I am doing this, I am constantly having my mantra go through my head.
Night time hits and I lay in bed visualizing with my mantra for about 10 minutes and go to sleep.
I wake up every 2 hours naturally and stay awake for about 5-10 minutes for what I call a micro-WBTB. During the 5-10 minutes I visualize and do my mantra till I fall asleep again, I repeat for hopefully 7-8 hours (good sleep)

Be more specific if you will, or less specific. The more details I can get from you all the more intrigued I am. If you want any more details from me, feel free to ask on here. Like what I do in my visuals, my mantra, etc.

If you want to add an amount of times that you do it per week, and about how consistent it is, that would be awesome.

Thank you for your time.
I wake up in the morning and repeat!

Hi there!

I’ve read your posts elsewhere and usually find myself agreeing with you as you help people, so I guess it’s no surprise that the things I do for lucidity are much like what you do, only I don’t have a wife to whom I can talk. Visualizing, goal-setting, affirmations, reality checks, and the like are very important to me, and I also use my natural awakenings for MILD and visualizing as well as writing in my journal. I get into the LD competitions on the site whenever I can, and usually find them to be great movitators. I jumped at opportunities to get involved in LD4all, getting involved as a chatroom op and joining the tutorial/article-writing member group so that I would have LD4all and thus LDing on my mind often. It paid off for me last month with 10 LDs for the month, which is good by most people’s standards (but lacking compared to the people to whom I eventually want to be compared ), and I’ve generally been consistently LDing every few days since I got serious about utilizing those techniques and resources, save a dry spell here and there.

The article I’m currently working on is essentially aiming to get people to try the mix of methods you posted as opposed to some single trick, and I’ve also noticed that most of our proficient LDers (and those on other sites) use some form of LL or a combination of DILD methods such as that one. While we get the same amount of novice WILDers that every LDing site does, there seems to be a bit of a shift back to DILD methods and waking life awareness as of late with a few good WILDers/DEILDers in the mix.

Hopefully a few other people can share their experiences too.

Haha, yes, I don’t look very different no matter where I go.

I recently heard a good quote from Bruce Lee.
“Adapt what is useful, reject what is useless, and add what is specifically your own.”

I think that looking through every technique is a great idea, because I don’t LD every dream yet (far from it) I have not found a perfect tech for me, I will keep changing mine slowly and concisely in order to get more LDs. I agree with trying to be as good as the “crazy LDers” I want to at least beat the naturals that get 3-4 LDs a night.

I was hoping that it wasn’t you guys spurning the crazy novice WILDers . I swear I would be further along if I hadn’t “laid still” for a month at the beginning of my LDing career. *Shakes fist at video tutorials
