A better future-maybe

I have read that the mind cannot tell the difference to what the body is physicaly going through and what you are just thinking. An experiment was done with 2 groups of right handed people. both groups were given excersised to learn to write with their left hand, and they were to practice for the same amount of time each day.
But one group were given extra training time, with which
they were only to close their eyes and think about writing with their left hand.
The group who had the extra training through thought alone learnt to write with the left hand quicker.
Because the mind cannot tell the difference between just thinking and actualy doing,it was as if the second group really did do more physical training.

If this is the case, then could’nt a person who had some disease, have a lucid dream and create within that dream, a healer or scorcerer of some kind, and have that character heal them. To do this every night. Would the mind not be able to tell the difference if it was real or not.

The mind after all is more powerful than anything we can imagine.
I think that LD has a lot to offer, maybe more than people realise, and that if humanity can become exceptional at mastering LD,then maybe, just maybe,we could cure ourselves of anything. physical and mental illness.
I think that LD could be humanities brighter future.

But we need to recognise this, and take it seriously.

Then again, perhaps im talking out of my rear end and havnt got a clue.

that’s a very good question i have pondered often

shamans did this sort of thing, generally not by going to sleep and dreaming in that way though.

the last time i did this i put an orange ball of watery energy in my heart to try to clear up some tensions and blocks and general skeletal issues that seemed wrong to me, but i’m not sure if it made a difference, in the dream i felt the entire part of my body turn watery though.

Allow me to quote myself from the other thread that you seemed to have Ctrl+V’d,

as a counterpoint

the entire human body regenerates every 2 years. new cells. new bones, new blood, new organs. new body. an entirely new body every 2 years. there is no such thing as solid matter, we are mostly empty space… all solid objects are mostly empty space.

energy healing works. reiki works.

once a chiropractor removes certain injures and blocks from the body, it regrows normally.

yoga is a process of directly transforming the body in the physical, mental, and energetic realms. through directed breath flow to sore areas of the body, injuries, and the systematic stretching, flexing, and changing of the body, a serious yogi will have an entirely new body within 2 years that far exceedes the health and efficiency of a person who sits on the couch and eats junk food every day for 2 years.

my tai chi instructor was in a wheel chair from a serious injury. in the hospital they taught him a basic chi channeling technique. and he did it, over and over and over and over again… until he could walk.

things like tai chi, yoga, qi gong, reiki, etc, put one gradually in touch with what is beyond the physical. the chi, the prana, the core “essence” of what the body is composed of.

he now has no pain. he practiced under a very accomplished teacher for 6 hours a day.

one has to be realistic when assessing an ailment. but there are many mind and body methods of healing that do work, and the “physicality” of the body is not the way it seems.

I once read a book about creative visualisation, it was in this that i read about the “learning of left hand writing experiment” and where the conclusion was drawn that the mind cannot tell the difference of what the body is actually going through and what is only being imagined.

It then went on to give case studies where people had used creative visualisation to cure themselves of cancer and other things.
Im just putting this together with LD.
Surley LD is much more powerful than creative visualisation, as your working directly with the subconcious mind and with-in a dream it is wide open for you to play with.
With creative visualisation you need to go into a form of meditation and is much harder to accomplish.
( Not that LD is easy )

Holy reality,i gotta say, that post is fantastic and Im gonna quote it to people when I get into this discussion with them.
I am actually a trained Reiki therapist and I practices Tai Chi for 7 years, so I know where you’re comming from.
I truly beleive that with LD you can create your own healing energy. You can use LD to tap into the energy of the universe and heal yourself as long as you do this on a regular basis. It’s no quick fix but in the long term, and you do need to be very good at LD.
Some people may say this is rubbish and its only in the mind. Well so be it, its kind of the point anyway,it all being in the mind. That is what LD is all about.
The mind is an extreamly powerful tool, and its about time we learned to use it properly as God intended. (and if you’re not religious, see it as a figure of speech)

If you want to go way completely out there,I also think that through LD we can tap into a lot more than just healing ourselves. and maybe in time, reach a whole new state of conciousness as humanity evolves.
Id love to say alot more about what I beleive LD can offer, and most of these therories are way out there and probably hard to beleive.

Im actually at the moment working on a way to have r

sorry, didnt finnish what i was saying before i posted that.

Im actually at the moment working on a gadget, which I am designing myself and will be patenting it. I cant say too much obviously about it, but what I will say,is that once its been made and trial test have been done,I’m hoping it will allow a person to experience LD every single night with ease.
I’m very excited about it, tho unfortunatly, you guys wont hear about it properly for about a year (if at all)

With this gadget,Im hoping to bring LD to the masses and make it so easy to have LD’s without all the preperations and rules.
ie: having to go to bed two hours later than normal, and having to be really, really tired. or having to wake up an hour before you normaly get up and read a book and then go back to bed. I mean who and lets be honest hear. what normal person can do this, and im talking about people with a family and a full time job. The need to clean the house,do the washing,do the ironing, putting the kids to bed.
These differente techs (WILD,VILD,FILD,WBTB) who has time to practice these, every night and which also, after weeks of practice, still may not get anywhere.

Well, with this gizmo, not anymore. It will be cheap, easy, and hopefully will almost guarantee you a LD every night. and if you dont want a LD one night, you dont use the gizmo.
Anyway, its all pipe dream at the mo, and it might not even work. So for the time being, we will just all have to ponder, be patient and hopfull.

Holy Reality, allow me to summarize your “Counterpoint”:
All human cells regenerate (braincells, anyone), matter is’nt very dense.

Chiropractors and Reiki practicioners are in fact not schmucks, I base this on… Well, you don’t seem to bother to put this in your “point”.
Yogi’s good physical conditions have in fact nothing to do with healthy eating, exercise and enough sleep but are in fact part of a obscure LD using cult that will never tell their secrets to anyone else 'cept me.
Again, a opinion does’nt equal a “(counter)point”.

Because I’m such a nice guy I’ll just asume that your not making your thai-chi instructor up.
Still, you fail to mention how serious his condition was, not even attempting to debunk the possibility that the guy just healed due to modern medicine.

Again with the baseless claims, god, if I took one of my mothers chakra’s books I’d probably be able to find a few generic sentences that match that one.

It’s not very convincing to start talking about being realistic when your whole story was a list of baseless claims.

Note: Chakra books is a term I use to denote oogieboogie spiritual works of literature that claim the human body to consist of sooo much more that ofcourse is’nt matter.
Healing energy, give me a break.

so you dont believe in any of this “energy” stuff? there has been tons of proof that things like reiki and tai chi work. Go to google and look some up this stuff up. People have been healed from reiki and tai chi does show health benifits!

When I’m sick I’m going to the hospital. I’m not going to be trusting anyone without a legitimate medical liscense to heal me.

Oh, I don’t doubt that people can quit smoking or feel better about themselves if they believe that magical healing powers emmited from your chakra’s will heal them.

And for crying out loud, you have any idea how easy it is to make up crap and put it on the internet? If you believe every witness acount of reiki you might as well do the same with those that believe they’ve been abducted by aliens.
If you look hard enough you can pretty much find proof for anything.
Undoubtedly there is also an abundance of cases on the internets where reiki failed to treat the patient, giving the condition time to grow more severe and prolly even kill.

As a kid some sorta healing energy woman tried to help me with psychological problems, god, I can’t believe my mom actually payed her.

Ok look, this is getting far too heated, lets all calm down a tad shall we!

First of all, alternative therapy should not be used instead of conventional medicine. It should be used in conjunction with.
Every person is very individual and some of these altenative therapies will not work on some people as they do others.
I am a Reiki practitioner and I have practice Tai Chi, I have felt these energies, hey do exist. I do not charge money for any teachings or healings I give, so have no reason to lie.

But the most important thing to remember, and I direct this at Inquisitor Bob more than anyone else:
is that over 100 years ago, medicines that we use today would have been laughed at. For goodness sake, we used to bash mental patience in the side of the head with somekind of chizel, thinking it would cure them. It wasnt that long ago that we discovered what the heart actualy does.
If we spoke to scientist hundreds of years ago about atoms and protons, the Earth revolving around the sun, the Earth being round, we would be burnt at the stake.
Just because we cannot see it, just because there is no machine yet invented that can mesure it, just because science has not yet proved it. DOESNT mean that this energy (Chi,Ki,Prana) doesnt exist.
One day science will prove its existance.
As history has proved, people like us, always have the last laugh.

My my, your getting cocky, and the fact that you explicitly denied being emotionally engaged pretty much confirms my suspicion of hitting a nerve.
(Oh, and while we’re on history, if by people like you, you mean people that ar’nt believed by the general masses, then I have to dissapoint you because there have been more people not believed than there have been, making your chance of luaghing last, well, I don’t have any accurate numbers since only the once that do manage to get the last luagh are recorded in history, so let’s just say, relatively slim)

And you feeling the reiki energy is hardly proof of anything, if you ask a monotheïst if they ever ‘feel’ God you’re likely to get an affermative.

And yes, ofbloodycourse they would’ve luaghed at modern medicine 100 years ago, just like they’d luagh at the notion of quantum mechanics or anything that needs alot of recent knowledge to understand.
They probably would’nt have luaghed at reiki though, they where quite fond of magic tricks back then.

And no, ofcourse there not being proof yet of something does not exclude it from existing, you must not forget though that, that is the same argument that religion uses and is unprovable both ways.

You know, the head bashers ar’nt even that far from reiki, relying on unproved religious theories of cosmic powers and demons, only difference is that reiki will only make your wallet hurt, interesting thing is that theres still a reward for 1 million dollars for anyone who can prove in a proper setting that he has paranormal abilities, this might be your chance if your really so convinced.

The idea Galileo had was insane for his time, however, he collected proof that would be able to convince anyone with a basic idea of how planets work, this got him thrown into prison because the church would lose power.

And well, reiki is’nt being prosecuted, it’s actually pretty hip, believers of reiki have never been able to think of a theory that could explain it, if attemps where even made, if something’s real there tend to be material consequences, every action has it’s reaction, and altough moaning and trying to visualise energy flowing might be a fun thing to do, there are many cases where the only reaction is boredom on the patients side.

However, just the fact that this only seems to work on people that believe in it (and even then not all have sucess) pretty much proves to me it’s nothing else than placebo effect.

I can see that we are going to both disagree on this subject. And I do respect your point of view, honestly. Eveybody is entitled to their own opinion.
I would like to say, that I am extreamly open minded on all subject matter and you do put up a very good argument.

And even though I believe in these energies and “magic tricks” am not trying to force these views on you or anyone else.
im just voicing my opinion.

Fair 'nuff, the harshness of the last post was mostly due to the last luagh comment, can’t stand that kinda stuff.

Well, you go on healing people, and I’ll continue making them believe it won’t work, either way, I don’t think it’ll affect your target demographic much.

gee, we feel wind dont we ? we cant see it but with us feeling it we know its there.

I have no doubt that you feel the energy, it’s just that if I concentrate enough and make myself believe there’s a power flowing through me I actually begin feeling surges of energy rushing through me.
If we did’nt question personal experiences we’d believe in alot of crazy stuff.

Thats because there is energy flowing through you and you’re just becomming aware of it when you allow yourself to.
you have electical pulses running through you so why not other energies?

Because we can easily create electrical pulses in laboratory’s, as far as I know noone ever managed to create a few MeV’s of chakra, if it’s truely something material it should be recreatable in a lab, I mean, some guy saying he felt it is’nt much of convincing proof now is it?

Add to that, that the whole concept of chakra is completely baseless, well, I just don’t like believing things that have as much direct proof as the story of Little Red bleedin’ Riding Hood happening.

And as I said, if you believe in something it’s not hard to feel it, I’ve experienced this several times with the weird forms of religions and occult stuff I got interested in.
Don’t underestimate the mind’s ability to trick you, it’s an automated system just as much as your eyes flipping the mental image before letting it reach your conciousness.

Just because you cant see or record something doesn’t mean it isn’t real. I thought you were more open then that from everything I’ve read that you posted anyways. Chakras are indeed real, if you think they are or not.

Who says its material.

There is more in this world then you or I could ever know, so who are you to start saying things are not? You’re perfectly allowed to believe they are not real, don’t get me wrong.

But your last post just sounded like a whiney child frustratedly trying to win his arguement with mommy to me.

This argument is futile to begin with, this is a argument about belief, not facts.
Since belief is’nt based on facts it usually can’t be disproved by this either (and since chakra lacks any real theory it’s not really possible to do any experiments, ergo, just as free from the burden of facts as the idea of God).

Your trying to do this makes you just as much of a whiney child as me, thank you very much.

I know now that your not familiar with epistemology, let me just ask, do you even believe in a emperical reality?
