I was curious to know if it is still possible to have good dream recall if being woken up by an alarm. I started trying to recall my dreams about a week ago and the last 3 days i have woken up by alarm and remembered next to nothing.
I wake up to an alarm every morning, and my dream recall is just as good when I don’t. Have you only tried for these 3 days? If so, just read up on some skills that are on this forum. Try this page!!. I don’t think this post belongs in this forum, but anyways to LD4all
An alarm won’t hamper dream recall if you make a routine out of it. My problem used to be waking up after my dreams. I used an alarm to initially wake me up about 4.5 hours into the night so i would awaken after a rem period. Then i wouldn’t use the alarm the rest of the night. I automatically woke up after each dream. I just needed that initial “start up”. But i’m sure with some practice and intent, you won’t even need it.

An alarm shouldn’t make it any harder to remember your dreams. Just make sure to keep a dream journal to improve your recall.
