Any Suggestions on a Suitable Tech?

Hey lucid dreamers, I have a slight predicament on my hands. I’ve been interested in LD’ing on and off for the past few years but haven’t really been very dedicated about it until recently. I’ve been keeping a dream journal regularly and can remember, on average, 3-5 dreams a night, usually 1-2 of them are fairly vivid. The only problem is that I don’t really know what technique to use.

Just saying right now, but I haven’t really tried any technique for more than 5 nights and that might be my problem.

Anyway, so in all I’ve tried VILD, FILD, WILD, and MILD, all combined with WBTB. However, for various reasons, every time I’ve become lucid in dreams it hasn’t been because of the techniques. With VILD and MILD, my problem is that by concentrating on the mantra/visualization, I am too conscious and can’t fall asleep. With WILD, I have a hard time staying still for very long and I can’t seem to get past very faint HH. With FILD, the moving of the fingers keeps me too awake.

All in all, I guess I need to find the path between being too aware and not being aware enough in order to LD. My question is, does anyone have advice on which tech would work best for my situation? Or should I be working on some other skill? Or maybe just try harder?

In any case, thanks for reading this.

Hello.
Well, I can’t really suggest you a technique, since I don’t know what kind of a sleeper you are, but I can try to improve the way you do your techniques.

With MILD and VILD, you should try ‘‘loosening’’ yourself and losing a bit of attention. I know how this feels.
Take a deep breath and think of relaxation…of how you are relaxed.
You will surely find yourself more relaxed than before.
Try imagining/repeating mantras a little fainter and weaker.

With WILD, try to do a muscle relaxation exercise. It MIGHT help.

And you still haven’t tried WBTB alone.
So, my advice is…try again, till you make it
