I’ve been having bad dreams every night now for the past month and i am wondering if there are any herbs or vitamins i can take to stop it happening?
I believe its happening because of the medications im on. It’s not really nightmares just bad dreams like getting beaten up by someone, or getting stabbed, or bitten by dogs, things like that.
So what herbs or other sort of things can i take to prevent this from happening?
I bought some of that valerian root and will try it tonight in a tea… just wondering if you are supposed to add actual tea bags or if you are supposed to do it with the valerian root alone? do i need to add milk?
I’m going to the markets tomorrow and hopefully getting some mugwort herb which is supposed to work wonders. I also got some B6 vitamin today which is also supposed to help.
I have some valerian root pills. I’d use them more often but they have the most atrocious smell, like rotting gym socks mixed with dog poo. I try not to touch the fetid pills as a moment of contact and my hands have absorbed the stench. And valerian burps?.. uhg!
I’ve had one cup of the tea before, one of those celestial tea drinks they have everywhere, called “Bedtime” or something- wasn’t too appealing to my taste buds (albeit I’m not a big tea drinker) but less off putting than the pills. Makes me wonder- how much valerian could actually be in the tea? I’m wondering if it’s even a substantial dose.
The dose for my pills is 1605mg valerian root (three pills) which also happens to be the most I can take without getting a headache.
hmm thats interesting I didn’t know you could get valerian root in pill form. I bought some of the actual herb and your right it really stinks… stunk out the whole house but i thought it was rather nice to drink as a tea.
I also got some mugwort herb which is nice to drink in a tea too. And I bought some b6 vitamins and some melatonin tablets.
So last night before I went to bed I took both those pills, had a mugwort tea and smoked a mugwort cigarette and still managed to have bad dreams
I have this giant ziploc of mugwort, still experimenting to see what the effects are. I’ve only used it as a ‘dream pillow’ (aka a mugwort filled sock).
From what I understand, the scent is an irritant which limits deep sleep. Aside from that, I don’t know what mugwort actually does. Placebo??? I need to experiment with it more.
