Astral Body?

I was going to sleep to try HILD again, as i was going to sleep(r dats wat i though)like 15 min. later i felt a HUMUNGOUS jolt. I’ve heard wen your sleep your astral body hovers above u, and when u wake up it goes back into your body. Well i guess mine fell back into my body, and it gave me a jolt. So i guess dat whole time I was sleeping, man i should have done a RC. And o yea, after the jolt, i felt energized.

Can someone clarify this 4 me?

i would say you were in very very deep REM sleep. Things like shocks a nd shaking happened to me once—like 2 months ago…lol but it is a really cool thing one gets to experience if he/she wishes.

i cant clairify it but it happened to me like a week ago. did it feel like you smacked the floor from falling from a height.

Well I tried doing that and got really close so I tried a bit of MILD and I jolted up way too energized. I had to run a lot…

umm it jus fell like a jolt

Could be a hypnagogic jerk, or just your inner ear’s balance registers shutting down for the night. I tend to lean more towards the opinion that dreaming and astral journeys are hardly the same thing.

it is not possible to project during normal circumstances in this state

you are just defragmenting information in non-dreaming sleep.

if you do manage to get out of body it often doesn’t last long

actual projections and dreams happen either while you are wide awake if you are very psychic, or in the morning when REM is during longer priods

From reading your post, it seemed you had been trying to sleep for about 15 minutes when you had this experience. I think the most likely thing you experienced is as EllyEve says, a hypnic jerk. This is like a muscle spasm, and you would feel energized after it because of the adrenalin released in the process. If the jerk was not so strong, then it might have been the onset of sleep paralysis, but from your description, that seems unlikely.

o ok and can someone tell me why WILD or MILD or any of those techniques doesnt work for me?

WILD: Maybe you don’t fall asleep quickly enough, or lose focus after too little time. That’s okay, WILD is the most difficult technique to master (even if it is supposed to be the most reliable one.)
MILD: While not difficult, I actually find this very complicated. The way the reality check “targets” are set up make my eyes glaze over, and there’s intensely working the recall of past dreams, before moving on to the cycle of imagining that you’re dreaming and repeating that you’ll know when you’re dreaming. Might be having missed the prerequisites, or low motivation/focus, or falling asleep too quickly, that makes this not work for you.

Have you tried combining them with the “play dead” WBTB?

Or maybe, while high motivation and the discipline to practice is good, trying too much and straining to achieve it can get in the way of even MILD. So, maybe be willing to have it not happen for a while but be ready for when it does because it WILL happen (autosuggestion), or just get in the habit of doing casual random RC’s.
Hope this helps!
