becoming lucid

Hi, Ive had 2 semi lucid dreams.

The first, i was like 600 miles away from where i fell asleep, and i was near my parents house. Then all of a sudden i felt like checking the time. When i did this, all of a sudden i could feel some crazy realization filling my mind, at first i could not figure it out, but i could feel it more and more, and i realized that my watch died the night before and that it couldnt work. Then i grabbed full hold of the realization i made. I was able to picture my earthly body sleeping while i was in the dream, and i figured i didnt want to wake up, so i decided to start flying. and thats when i lost my train of though.

when i had this, i had not heard of a lucid dream before.

The second one was a completly complicated dream. I remember trying to complete some crazy alchemy with some elements, i had no idea what i was doing but i was doing it. there was a mirror in the room, and i found myself looking at it. i saw that my teeth were completly fucked up and that my retainer was in. following that i had the same realization taking over me as in previous dream. i quickly stared down strait at my hands and walked away from the dream scene, i tryed looking around at the dreamworld once or twice, but everything was unknown and blurry and constantly changing.

The dream continued as i lost train of though and lost lucidity. and a few moments later, a person with no skin on his body, reminded me of a mummy, zombie, or some ancient person, told me to come into a room quick. i followed him in there, and he started asking me questions. first he asked me if i knew how he was there, in which i responded ‘From dreaming’. And he said yes. He then started to tell me about perfecting it.

I do rember being somewhat lucid during the coversation, as the dream never really stopped

since these 2 dreams i have had the feeling of coming close to the realization that im dreaming, lbut it has never fully captivated me, and whenever i do become lucid im very excited and its extgremly hard to hold the train of thought needed.

Anyone else have any experience in tricking yourself into lucidity?

Hey, and welcome :welcome: to lucid dreaming!

Yes, mirrors are good tools to obtain lucidity, as i usually look weird when i look at my reflection. Also i have had moments when i look out from the window of some room i know very well, and outside look is different than it’s usually is.

The more critical you will be in real life asking “Is this reality, or dream?”, the more chances are that you are more critical in your dreams also to your environment.

Good luck!
