This is a quick little guide I thought I would put together for the noobies All of the tip’s I will be giving are based on my opinion of what works best and if anyone has any problems feel free to come on IRC/post a topic and ask for help
Well starting off, this is the ideal way that I think would be best for someone to learn to lucid dream, but it is time consuming so I’m sure not everyone would be able to. This will be in the format of a “journal” of someones day who is practicing this, starting a little before they go to sleep.
Step 1. Meditation! Meditation helps you clear your mind. The benefits to having a clear mind are: You won’t have as many thoughts in your head going to sleep, which I believes calms down your dreams and makes them less crazy. Your MILD’s will be more effective because it will be one of the last things you are thinking before you go to sleep. You will feel less stressed which is good if you have insomnia and makes you feel more confident in your MILD. Mediations is also great for WL This isn’t necessary but you will notice the benefits.
Step 2. Do some Autosuggestion (a.k.a. MILD). This will help you get LD’s or if you want can help you get better recall. This is something that should be done.
Step 3. Sleep!
Step 4. WBTB. Right when you get up record any dreams that you may remember. After that do something LD related for a while, go on the forum or chat or something. Do this for long enough that you will be able to go to sleep right when you go back to bed but not more then 30 minutes. If your a light sleeper and have a hard time going back to sleep don’t do it to long. When you are ready to go back to sleep you can try two things: You can do some more MILD and go back to sleep or you can do a WILD (You can always mix the two ). This is recommended if you have the time. Getting good sleep is important and you don’t want to compromise that but if you have the time WBTB is very helpful.
Step 5. Wake up (a few minutes early). Try another WILD when you wake up, you can keep on doing this until you really have to get up if you fail. If you have the time try it but if you don’t, don’t worry about it.
Step 6. Wake up (for real this time). Don’t move, try and remember your dreams. Once you feel like you remember them pretty well do a RC to make sure your not having a FA (Or do that first) and write your dreams down in your DJ. Look for some DS that might of happened in your dreams. This is recommended but if you don’t have the time it’s not necessary but if you do, try and do it, it pays of to have good dream recall.
Step 7. Live life. Throughout the day do RC when ever something feels strange, kinda like miniature deja vu. Try and do them as much as possible or you could even try to anchor them to something, like do a RC when ever you walk threw a door. Try and reflect on your dreams you had the night before, especially if you aren’t able to keep a DJ. This is highly recommended because it helps your awareness and is easy to do.
Step 8. Repeat.
This is based of the idea that the more experience you get the better it is. The more methods you try the more you know which one is for you and which one isn’t. The more experience you get the more you know what to expect which is extremely helpful for WILD. That is why I recommend trying WILD so much. I have read a lot that people think WILD is not for beginners but I think that there is no reason that it shouldn’t be. WILD is all about controlling your emotions and the more you try it out the more you get used to it.
Well good luck and ®©![/code]
