Welcome to the party Seph89 and MrPoo (lol).
I just want to clear up something with everybody…because I am getting asked about it frequently…I’ll start from the top though.
As you may or may not know…we currently have 41 registered people coming to this party. 41!!! Out of all those people, only TWO are going to be hosts. That leaves 39 people that the hosts have to make sure are there. As you can see, that is a VERY big number for 2 people to handle in just the beginning of a lucid dream. Earlier…I know I said that you don’t HAVE to try and become lucid, because we would find you if you weren’t…but now, things aren’t looking so pretty…lol. It is simply too much for 2 people to find 39 people. If we had to do that, then a lot of time would be wasted just gathering everybody. And if a lot of time is wasted, that also means some people may get bored or may even lose lucidity all together.
So…what I’m trying to say is, PLEASE try your very hardest to become lucid on the day of the party. Due to the fact that we only have 2 hosts…it is simply not realistic to try and find everybody not lucid. Once again, I know I left a choice in the first post…and actually that choice is still there…but just know that if you do not become lucid yourself on the night of the party, you have a very low chance at not attending. I’m not trying to say this in a rude way or anything…it’s just what needs to be said. A lot of you probably came and signed up for this thing thinking that this would be an easy way for you to become lucid without having to do anything…but that isn’t what this is for.
Like I said, I am not trying to sound harsh or anything…I just want you guys to see that this party is going to take some work to get into. So please keep working on techniques of your choice so you have greater chances of obtaining lucidity.
With that said, it does NOT mean that the hosts will no longer try and find people. We still will seek out as many people as possible, but I’ll tell you now, we wont get to them all. The most I will allow the hosts to spend on finding people is somewhere around 5-10 minutes. Any more time than that really cuts down on what the party was even about in the first place.
I’m also thinking about other ways to fix our problem though (the whole 2 hosts vs. 39 people)… What if we were all to be in groups of 3 or 4… and whoever in that group gets lucid (odds are one will be lucid) can seek out the rest of the group. It would still mean that every member in the group MUST try and get lucid, but it makes it a lot easier than having just 2 people finding EVERYBODY. 
I won’t make that official though until I get some feedback. So let me know about it!
As for the practice dream being held Saturday July 22, 2006, all people attending are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to participate in a pre-sleep chat in the #SeaPartyHQ channel. There we will organize what exactly will be happening in the dream itself…and so on. So yeah…please come there at 6:00 PM(18:00) GMT (whatever your GMT ± number is…add that to the time and that will be your time) if you are attending the practice dream.

I think groups would be a good idea, maybe try to get one slightly experienced LDer in each group, just to make things easier on you and darxide.
I also think we should start posting descpritions of ourselves on here so we can all get to know each other, and soon.
The chat is also a good way to do this.
Getting to know other people (the descriptions you seek) will be part of the things discussed in the chatroom (#SeaPartyHQ) on the days that are close to the party. Having everybody post in here about themselves would make this topic about 30 times bigger…lol.
Ben, I could host except I don’t understand shared dremaing, how to differentiate between objective/subjective dream reality, how to tell if the person is really there, and you are really talking, or if they are in your head and telling you they are lucid because you want them to be lucid.
if there is an objective shared dream reality to me it seems like it would be VASTLY different than most of my LDs, and so profound that I would be like “wow… this is so awesome”
daily lucidity is not a problem, generally, if it is my goal. it’s just, well… shared dreaming?
I find random people and try to interact with them all the time, often times my friends too. Either they have the worst recall in the world or I’m not doing it right, or it isn’t possible?
But back when we had the shared dreaming forum I kind of did have a good occurence with retro.
Do you have to have chakras open to do this? Have to have an OBE?
I could conceivably host if I truely understood how to intiiate shared dreams, or for that matter extend the length of my dream to be as long as I wanted.
why couldn’t you just set up a loud speaker to project to the crossroads, foster the intent for it to reach all signed up guests, and say into it “come here and party… you’re dreaming right now”
holy reality, you seem confused about shared dreaming…lol. Don’t make it any harder than what it really is. It’s just one simple concept. You find a person in the dream that you want to have a SD with, you ask if it really is them (there isn’t much you can do to prove if they are real or not at this point), you make them lucid, and then yay!
How you prove it was actually a shared dream, is you each give each other a password that you made up just then, and the next day you will see if they match what that person really said.

It sucks. I’ve been getting up early for different things randomly tossed into my schedule, so I haven’t really had time to LD lately. I’m going to Idaho soon and probably won’t while I am there - maybe some spontaneous onese though. I’m not going to try while I’m on vacation, but I should be back by the time this party is ready.
I’m 50% sure I may have work the day of though, so I may not be able to make it. Only time will tell.

If you divide us into groups, you could have the hosts find one person from each group, then have that person find the rest.
Yeah there are many other ways that I could’ve done this way of finding people…but the problem is, they came to me a bit too late.
Because we only have a week before the party, I am NOT changing any current way of finding people. We simply don’t have enough time to get used to a new way. With that said, this party will probably be the least successful out of all the parties, finding people wise. I apologize for the poor planning, which actually would’ve worked if we had more hosts. But that’s ok. We will still see how it works and it’ll still be fun in some way.
Now, the parties to come after this one, they will be much more organized and well-timed. From the announcement of the party, to the actual party, there will probably be close to 2 months of time to prepare. That way, you will be able to practice incubation techniques, you can get to know everybody, and you can adapt to the new ways of the group system (which will be described after this party).
If this party does in fact not go as well as we had all hoped it would, please do not be discouraged. I have already started planning the organization of the next party, and I PROMISE it will be much much much more user friendly.
After all…you can’t blame me for this party, as it is in the process of trial and error.
Anyways…none of this changes the fact that if you are able to get lucid yourself on the night, you will be able to attend no matter what. Also, we ARE still going to find people, but we just might not get to everybody.
First off sorry for coming on too strong…I know it really sounded like I wanted a free ride into lucidity, but that is not the case. I am just very passionate about lucid dreaming and this shared lucid dreaming experience you are talking about is a big deal to me. That is all. Now hear me out…I can help you get others lucid. All you (one of the hosts) have to do is get me strongly lucid or to a point where I can keep control without losing lucidity. From there on I will have a lot of willpower and focus. I can easily help you find the other guests. Another thing that will make things much easier and you have probably already mentioned this, but have everyone incubate a dream and start off in a small white room(something simple). Then the hosts can easily teleport there make them lucid. Think about this.

99% sure I’ll be at the crossroads at the designated time for the practice dream. i will have to get the WBTB down, maybe start working on a regular WBTB rhythmn involving hitting REM around 3:00 starting tonight.
ben if you and I can make contact during the practice dream and verify it [i have a standard codeword so i won’t really forget to give it], I can definitely do some hosting for you.
I have a suggestion what if the two hosts find first most experienced people. They are going to help to get other people lucid too and so on. Otherwise the hosts have to do so much. I think the hardest part for me is to go lucid. I would love to help in getting other people lucid or find them. Yet I first have to become lucid. I’ve been trying to incubate a (lucid) dream for this project for the last time, but I had no success at all.
While writing this, I didn’t read everything and you already suggested something with the groups and already said it is too late for that.
I would love to be at the attempt at 22/23 july, but there’s a big change I won’t fall asleep at the right time, because I’m in a car at that moment.
