My dream recall isn’t bad - I can remember 1-3 dreams per night, but everything I remember is still unclear, like I can only remember anything through a big fog =(
This also annoys me when I have a LD in the night that is so clear and vivid, and then I wake up - remember it and it is again like a normal, foggy dream…
OK - I think the answer for that just is to increase my DR, but:
How good can your DR be?
How often should I read my DJ?
Are there additional methods to having a DJ?
A lot of the time, I wake up in the middle of the night too tired to actually write in my journal… so I either a) scribble down almost unreadable notes in my journal or b) sketch a simple picture of symbols in my dream…
Dream recall gets better as one writes in one’s DJ. At least in my case, it helps.
A good thing is to set your alarm to go off at certain points in the night, to coincide with the end of a period of REM sleep…it’s much better to wake up 2-3 times and record one dream per time than it is to sleep all the way through and try to remember stuff at the end because everything’ll get muddled
Setting the alarm to go off after REM sleep is also good because the dream will be fresh in your mind and easier to write in the DJ
About improving dream recall, just keep practising!, but there are also various herbs which can improve DR and also the chances of having a LD…i’ve heard a lot about one herb called Calea Zacatechichi which is supposed to be good for this.
For me the most important thing, when I learn about LD was to realise, that i have dreams every night… First day after this I remembered 3 dreams, but not completly… just parts of them… Some days before when I’ve had my first lucid dream, I was enough aware of it to say that I will remember it when I wake up… and than after my awaken I remembered this dream almost completely, every thing which I did was like I did It IRL … The most important thing imo is to suggest yourself that you will remember more and more of events in your dreams… and it WILL work
Masturbation has no direct impact upon Lucid dreaming, I know from experience since I’ve had two lucid dreams in one night after hem Not going any further . However, I do believe it has a very slight effect upon Dream recall.
Onto the subject, I’m afraid, all dreams fade. They’re very fresh when you wake up from a dream, feels like you were just there. Once you’ve gone to sleep, or done your day, the vividness goes down. When I have a LD and wake up in the night, I take about 15-30 minuites simply analyzing the dream, remmebering as much as possible and simply going through it over and over again. When I wake up, I still remember it in full quality. (Most of the time )
Masturbation releases serotonin (seratonin?) which reduces your REM sleep (Or something like that). It’s something I picked up on some lucidity articles and I believe it is mentioned in the Lucid Warp software.
why should it have any different effects to normal sex?
though oddly i have found that ever since i started the quest i have had less of an urge…
though it is a good way to boost yourself after another LD-less night
I also read that serotonin has something to do with body temperature…
I was wondering if that meant if one were too hot or cold one would also experience poor DR as well (since I’ve been way too warm for the past few nights… ).
The herbs …I don’t have direct experience with this but apparently there are many herbs which increase DR and LD in general, the best one is apparently Calea Zacamechichi (spelling mistake?)…or just Calea Z. for short
It might be worth a try. Also there may be certain foods that can increase DR…might be worth a look into these?
