Who here sleeps sans blankets when attempting to LD? I was practicing WILD just now, attempting to nap. I failed, but before I finished trying I lay on TOP of all of my blankets, instead of beneath.
Two reasons I tried this: I read somewhere that colder body tempatures help with LDs, and also because the blankets made it impossible for me to aim my feet in a comfortable position (feet straight up hurt ankles because of weight of blankets on top of feet, and to the side felt unnatural).
In really hot days I sleep on shorts with no blankets and can still have LDs; I think the problem might be related to temperature: if you feel cold, you get an irregular sleep and then your dreams go poooof! and your recall drops too.
Also, you should consider the possiblity that you, fearing that sleeping without blankets would lessen your chances of LDing, got a bit anxious and can’t achieve lucidity because of the anxiousness, and not the blankets themselves. After all, buddhist monks can LD with or without blankets, right?
