I’ve recently started attempting WILDs again, after many years away (not that I was ever successful at them before - apart from a few in-dream WILDs, my only successful IRL one occurred pretty much as soon as I closed my eyes again after waking up in the REM stage, so I never felt any of the usual sensations).
Now, as in my earlier attempts, I can always get to the HI/SP/tingling stage, with some occasional HH starting to appear, but as of yet haven’t managed to pull through into the ‘other side’. But my lack of WILD skill isn’t the question for now
, what I am wondering is that during a WILD attempt, even if unsuccessful, does your body rejuvenate itself the same as if you were asleep regularly in a non-REM stage?
That is to say, that your body does reach a stage where you are technically ‘asleep’, even if you haven’t yet entered a dream state. Am I correct in this assumption? And if so, hypothetically, if one was to attempt to WILD for the full night’s duration, never actually entering a dream, but remaining in the SP stage the whole time, would you wake up feeling as refreshed as if you’d had a full night’s sleep?
I say hypothetically because I’m sure 8 hours without a dream isn’t possible as your body would probably kick into REM eventually, with you lucid or otherwise!
I guess my point is that for the time I do spend trying to WILD, will this negatively affect me the next day? I am quite a patient person and can maintain the WILDing attempt for a fair while (say 2 hrs), so if I knew my body is still recovering, I would be happy to spend all night trying to achieve WILD success!
(plus the sensations on the way to getting there are quite trippy and enjoyable in themselves!
)
) and if the body can do that whilst awake you would think it will do it in a SP state hey. Although does this physical rejuvination also include the mental ‘refreshing’ that comes with sleep?
