Explained a LD to a DC

When I was around 7-9 years old (almost 16 years old now) I had many lucid dreams.
I did not know that they were called LDs or even “how to do it” but I did it by telling myself I was dreaming before I fell asleep.

One time had a LD where I was in my garage (looked like my real one, neat!) talking to a good friend of mine. I told him “This is a dream so no matter what I tell you you wont really know it” then I said “You aren’t even you, you are actually me so it’s like I’m talking to myself” looking back on this I was a better Lucid Dreamer then than now. Then I requested “You won’t remember any of this but in case you do call me in the morning”.

He seemed to believe it all and the dream did not fall apart, he did not dissapear, nothing crazy.

And, no, he did not call the next morning.

Have you done this or something like it before?
I’d like to know and read about your experiences like this.

Hey Tambu

Yeah i have had this happen to me several times b4, but only once or twice while i was fully lucid. that might not make sense, but for example, i would be talking to a friend, and then i would tell them that it was a dream, but i wouldn’t fully become concious, even though i was saying it was a dream.

2 memorable ones inc. a time when i told my mate as we were walking through school, that we were actually both in a dream, and he thought that was cool. obviously when i woke up and asked him he had no clue

the 2nd time, my dc explained it was a dream to me  i was hanging out with a really good friend of mine, and i told her she was a really great friend, to which she said ‘if only you could tell me that in real life.’ i said 'ur not real are you?" and she smiled and shook her head. Then i woke up, (she had moved away a week ago)

Wow, thats strange.

DC explaining to you, I never thought of that, lol.

I remember having dreams where I “remembered” I was dreaming, but that was just part of the dream. Simular to what you said.

Hi Tambu,

I find it fun to talk with DCs in LDs.

Some DCs kind of disappear when confronted.

Others will argue with you about whether its a dream.

For me, if the DC represents somebody close to me, I tend to treat them as if they are real, whereas if they look like a stranger, I think they are ‘just’ a DC.

In one LD I tried to ask a DC who looked like my father if he represented part of me. The DC got quite angry about that and said I might as well call him a “monkey pager”.

PasQuale’s DJ has some interesting conversations with different DCs.

Also I had one dream where a DC made me lucid. He seemed to do it intentionally.

Okay. In one LD i told a friend of mine that he is a dream character. He looked at me funny, seemed annoyed.
He is the only one who asked me to teach him about Lucid Dreaming, but he is too lazy and forgetful. But he got me lucid in two dreams. I didn’t even believe him in one of them. I think it’s funny because the real him is crap at it but explained it to me like he knew all along. Sort of schooling me on it.
Oh and in one dream I explained to him this was all a dream, but I thouhgt we were sharing a dream, and I explained about how he could get what he wanted, He wanted booze. Ofcourse he could not verify eny of it the next day, I don’t belive in shared dreaming while awake, I am open to it but not convinced. But in some lucid dreams I just believe that’s what’s happening.

A couple of nights ago, I had a funny dream. I think I had it because I had been talking to a friend of mine during the day about how you doesn’t necesseraly pee in your bed if you pee in your dream. So in the LD, I showed him. “You see, you can pee everywhere in this dream, but you won’t wet your bed” and we stood there peeing like maniacs. It was kinda a semi-LD since I actually thought my friend was joining my dream. Suddenly I “woke up”, and my bed was wet. I was still in a dream but I didn’t know it. So I went to the bathroom, but before I could get there, my friend stopped me and was telling me that it still was a dream, but I didn’t believe him. He was like “Come on man, watch all the strange things, why don’t you see it is a dream?”. And I just said “Umm… we have waken up from that dream, dumbass”
But then another thing happened: a teddybear in my room started moving. I said “Look, it is moving, it’s a dream!”, but then my friend said “No, it’s not, NOW we are waken up”. And the teddybear moved whenever my friend wasn’t watching.

I love those dreams

Same sort of thing here, but, a little dumber, on my part. I was having a dream that I was at my house, it was a lucid dream, so I was venturing around the house looking for things that would normally be there. Then my friend shows up, and is walking around. I stop and talk to him, and say “Hey Ben, what’s up?”, he was like “not much. What are you doing here?”. I replied, “Well, I live here, but it’s a dream, so, it doesn’t matter one way or the other.” But then he started arguing with me saying that it wasn’t a dream. What’s funny, is that he convinced ME of all things. I ended losing my sense of lucidity in the argument I guess, but it was still very enjoyable.

There’s nothing better than being tricked by your own mind, eh?

Once I had an LD where I ran up to a DC to have a conversation with her, but she said, “Do you think I don’t have better things to do with my time than to chat with you?”

“Yes,” I answered. “You’re a dream, so if you walk away you don’t exist any more.”

“Perhaps you’re the dream! I have to go home and get dinner on, so excuse me!”

And then she stormed off. Other times, I’ve told DCs that they’re in a dream, and they say, “Oh, cool.” Once they said, “Yes, I know.” :o

Sometimes, esp. with my dad as a DC, people will get very mad when I tell them that I’m dreaming and that they are too.

Sometimes, they’re happy that I found out, sometimes they’re confused, and sometimes they simply don’t care.

Though I remember one time when my dad was a DC, I realized I was dreaming. He seemed disappointed like I spoiled a surprise or something.

Lol! These are great stories, thanks for sharing.
It was fun reading them. :content:

I had a LD the other night and wanted to talk to a DC (I’m new-ish at LD’s so I’m not in full controll) and the only DC I could find was my cat. I said “Hi” and she said “Hello” and then I woke up.
Strange… :eh:

I look forward to having better conversations like the ones you guys have had.

Next time I’m in a lucid dream with my mates, I’ll punch one as hard as I can, and see what he does.

Although apart from that, I think I’ld treat my mates as I usually would, as asclepius said. It just wouldn’t seem right to do things to them when you’re perfectly conscious and they arn’t. DC’s are fair bait though.
