FA and FLD

Last night I was dreaming that I was awake and trying to WILD.

During the dream I was FA and started notice that the letters from the computer screen where changing so I DILD for about a minute without much control but FA again several times.

The problem is that I never real LD, I just had a ND where I was dreaming that I was having a LD.

Is this what people mean with FLD (False Lucid Dream) ?

Is there a way to deal with this?

FAs are a good opportunity to ask yourself if you are dreaming. Just make a habit of it. Everytime you wake up, ask yourself:

“Am I really awake, or am I still dreaming?”

If you are not sure, do a few RCs until you are. Don’t make the mistake of dismissing the possibility too early and just geting up into WL or a ND.

When I think I wake in my bed still with closed eyes is it a good idea to open the eyes?

In this dream I remember I was with closed eyes trying to WILD so opening the eyes would work, but if I’m really awake opening the eyes will spoil the opportunity to dream again.

Hm, I’ve been thinking about that. Opening the eyes and realizing that you are awake is not good for re-entering dreams. I think the best method is to just stay “drifting” in the half-awake state with eyes closed, until the dream continues or a new one starts to form.
Maybe it would be good to have some sort of RC which can be done with eyes closed? (The nose-RC for example?) :eh:

I’m new to all this, but I’m almost completely sure I had a series(?) of dreams tonight, 2-3 of which I was lucid in. I had a lot of fun! :cool_laugh:

Anyway, I had several FAs, and each time I tried holding my nose and breathing through it. It worked several times, and so I became lucid and got out of bed (again, so to speak). Seems to be one of the best RCs around, because it’ll never work IRL (as opposed to some things such as light switches, reading text…) and almost always work in dreams.
