First LD impressions

Hi,

It’s my first post so I might be writing in a wrong place.

I’ve been trying to have a [LD] for past 3 days (quite new experience to me), but from what I remember, I dream about trying to have a [LD]. Basically dream inside a dream, and a lot of false awakenings.

What I want to ask is: can you see your nose inside dreams? Because if not, looking at your nose is a very easy [RC]. And how to deal with those dreams about lucid dreams themselves?

You are questing for lucidity, and then, in the right place, see, you can’t see your nose in your dreams, so, yes, closing an eye and looking at your nose is a good RC.

About these NDs about LDs… I just watch them passively, after all, it’s just a normal dream, we usually do miss huge freaking dreamsigns, but that’s life. Maybe there’s something I don’t know, but if there is someboy is going to come and say it.

I have not ever used the nose RC but I’ve heard it works. It’s best to do 3 different RC’s, to ensure that they work.
I do first the nose plug RC, then look at my hands and finally look at any writing I can find and check to see if it changes when I look back and forth at it. All at the same time I’m asking my self ‘Am I dreaming or not?’ and I am scrutinising the enviroment for any hint of a dream.
You can’t just perform the action without the objectivity alongside it.

Yeah, this morning I dreamed about trying to WILD. It’s annoying when it happens, but it sounds like you’re getting close. Yes, that’s an RC, but I don’t usually use it. Either I just know I’m dreaming or I do a nose plug RC, which always works for me.

Lucid dreaming about lucid dreaming. Hmm never heard of that. But yeah its very easy to miss dream signs because the logical part of the brain is off. You will be pretty much ready to believe anything.

Get in the habit of doing RC when you wake up. If you can’t remember to do it in real life there is not much chance you will do it in a dream.

Lighting switch check is perfect. Lights never work in dreams. Most of the time you will not even need reality checks because the dream will obviously be so crazy you will just know.
Don’t do the nose thing. Because you risk opening your real life eyes when you reopen your dream eyes (only part not sleep paralyzed = lungs + eyes).

I’ve closed my eyes and not lost a dream before, but I can’t keep them closed too long if I do so. If I do close my eyes, it’s usually as an attempt to switch dreams. I also don’t think you have to close one eye to look at your nose in a dream.

Lights USUALLY don’t work for me, but they’ll work once I focus on getting them to work. I remember one dream (not sure if it was an NLD or LD though) in which I was in a dark mansion and was scared, but I managed to get a light to turn on.

Hmm whats an NLD and a FLD? not used to those terms

Mouse over the terms, and you’ll see what they mean. I didn’t use FLD, but that’s still a term.

Just noticed that if I go to sleep 5 hours later then usually, I can’t remember any single dream, messing with night schedule is quite risky. WBTB technique isn’t working properly, because I get too excited about a NEW DAY, so I can’t fall asleep again whatsoever.

One time I was attempting WILD at evening. I saw a pool near a sauna outside (grandparent’s place), then when I got underwater, I realized that I was sleeping, tho I wasn’t sleeping at all. The strange part is that it wasn’t more of a dream, but my imagination that: predicted how would it happen. But some parts of it, like the location wasn’t intended by me. It felt like a movie, not a world for me.
Are you familiar with this?

And this last thing is gonna be way off-course:
Once I had a dream that I was going down a wooden spiral staircase, and it got tinier and tinier till I was trapped like in a coffin with no way out. And a fire started… (don’t want to start a journal, and this is also a very old dream)

And this one thing wasn’t like a dream, but more like a visualization:
There’s a painting on a wall. There are two more people in front of you. They were looking at the painting, but slowly turns against you. And a phrase out of nowhere comes: “they are both traitors”.
I told my brother this story, and the similarities of the emotions we felt were quite terrifying. What is in the painting?
