What is autosuggestion
11. Definition of Autosuggestion
To understand autosuggestion we should start off with defining it, Answers.com says auto suggestion is

  • StarryGwee.

28. Repetition.
A lot of people wonder how many times your supposed to repeat your mantra? Well the answer is its not about repetition but how well your mantra sticks with you. You want to make sure when repeating a mantra to make sure that you don’t just repeat it mindlessly, each time you say it you should try and make if more meaningful. Once you feel that it has kind of sunk in you want to stop saying it and thinking about it.

  1. Believing.
This is probably the most tip in this whole guide. BELIEVE IN WHAT YOU ARE SAYING This is more important then all then every thing in this article, This is the whole point of it. Make sure when you repeat your mantra that you really mean it. The more you mean it the greater effect it will have on you. If you repeat your mantra and you still don’t feel like you mean it their are some things you can do to trick your mind into believing (muhahaha). I call it the acting method (It’ll be obvious why) and use it when ever I feel like my mantra isn’t meaningful or I have doubt. To do this, you are going to think of the most stupid, dumb, obvious question out their, I like to use 1+1=2. I will repeat that to myself and pretend someone is asking me it. And I will try and say how obvious it is, ex: “1+1 is 2 duh, 1+1=2 everyone knows that (inner dialogue)” until I get this feeling of how dumb and obvious it is when I get that feeling I then repeat with my Mantra with the same mindset, ex: “I am going to remember my dreams tonight… Duh, everyone knows that”. And what do you know, I start to believe it (And then I remember all my dreams ).

Using autosuggestion

  1. Building your Confidence.
Autosuggestion relies on confidence, if your not confident in your suggestions/mantra then you want have as much success as someone else who might. One of the techniques that I first used with autosuggestion to boost my confidence with it was to use it to wake up in the middle of the night, which I still use all the time. This works by creating a mantra/suggestion about waking up in the morning, Mine was I will wake up at 5 o’clock. I repeated this before I went to sleep that night, and with some help with the acting technique, I woke up the next morning 5 minutes before 5 o’clock! Using suggestion/mantra’s to remember more dreams is also a great way to build confidence .
