Half asleep, half awake LDs

I’ve been trying to figure out something recently. So I’ve been having these weird moments where I’m dreaming but at the same time I am able to feel and move my body. Kinda like half awake half asleep And there’s moments in that where in the dream I easily catch on that I’m dreaming. For example last night I had a dream where there was a huge tornado and I realised it’s a dream because in my country there’s never tornadoes So I became lucid and stopped it but after that my dream went kinda blank and I lost it. Similar things have happened before and it’s all something recent, so I’m trying to figure out a way to turn it into a full on lucid dreaming technique if it isn’t already. Any ideas ?

I get this sometimes too. I had a dream recently where I kind of slipped between the waking and dreaming world every now and then.
I didn’t become lucid at any point in time, I just became more aware of my surroundings in the dream. Like, I paid more attention to everything, causing the dream to be more memorable.
Of course, I’m not a very good person to listen to about this topic as I’ve only had one LD

I’m sure you could turn this into a LD technique. You just need to find out why it’s happening, and if you can figure that out then you should definitely give the technique a name.

The only reason I can think of that this would be happening is if you were maybe anxious about something? As an anxious person myself who sometimes gets what you are describing, this does sound like it could be caused by anxiety. Like, maybe you are kind of awake because your body is on edge and wanting you to be aware of your real life surroundings.
It could also be something to do with hypnopompic hallucinations and waking up.

Anyways, I hope this helps and good luck with finding out more!!

I’ve actually tried to figure it out but with no success. Either way, I’m still focusing on it when it happens but for now I’m dreaming journaling so I can remember my dreams better since there’s no point in having a LD if I can’t remember everything because of poor dream recall. Also anxiety might be the issue here really, or rather the cause of that to happen. I’m an anxious person too and there’s some periods where I’m more anxious than I would usually. I’ll look into it for sure!
