Happy Songs

You know, sometimes it’s nice to just listen to a happy song. They can cheer you up when you’re down, make you super happy when you’re already happy, and just make you appreciate life.

Normally I listen to hard rock/metal, but there is a song that I’ve just found recently, that although being a lot lighter than I’d normally listen to, I really love.

It’s called Meet Me on the Corner, by Lindisfarne, and is a song about someone who sells dreams.

It’s so easy to picture the scenes, and I like to listen to it with my eyes closed and imagine what’s happening. It can really lift my spirits up.

So, do any of you have a happy song?

I do! I do!
One of my favorite “happy songs” is “Piggies” by the Beatles. It’s pretty happy.
Oh, also “Lithium” by Nirvana. “I’m so happy. Cause today I found my friends. They’re in my head.”

There are so many more…

Here’s song I picked up a few years ago. Try to guess where it’s from  .

try humming that while dissecting them

Peter Gabrial- Salisbury Hill is uber happy.

and most of the songs on the I Heart Huckabees soundtrack

My happy song is Motion Picture Soundtrack by Radiohead. I find the track really depressing, sad or something like that (I think it’s leaning more towards ‘sad’), but it’s also really happy for me, because I think it’s about death, and that’s when you are at peace. It also talks about life after death, which I don’t believe in, but you know, I just love the song. It’s about someone dying to rejoin their lover apparently. And I connect with this somehow. Even though I’ve never truly been in love or had a lover die. Oh well, it’s still my happy song.

Hey There Delilah by Plain White T’s

Just got it on my computer

AMAZING song

Walk of life! With “Dire straits”

Thats THE happy song

You can’t forget the song Dead by My Chemical Romance. What? Not happy enough for you? Meh… you guys can keep your happy-happy-joy-joy stuff, I’ll stick to my depressing Emo-rock music.

And I thought I was the only person who listened to Radiohead… :content:

Let me throw in a few:

-Nice Dream - Radiohead (The Bends). Sail To The Moon, Radiohead (Hail To The Thief). I Will (Hail To The Thief) How To Disappear Completely (Kid A)
-Every Sufjan Steven song I know makes me happy, although I only have Illinois and a few other songs.

  • Sleepwalkin’, Modest Mouse (Building Nothing Out Of Something). Bankrupt On Selling, Modest Mouse (The Lonesome Crowded West).
-Sigur Ros. Heysatan (Takk) . (Eh, spelling…)
-Architecture In Helsinki. Every song. Happiest music I’ve ever listened to.
-Sunset Rubdown. Shut Up I Am Dreaming Of Places Where Lovers Have Wings.

In retrospect, 90% of these songs actually tend to make me cry, but they’re so bittersweet it really makes me truly happy.

Nope, your among friends here .

Modest Mouse went to the high school I go to right now…

no way… that’s AWESOME

Float on by Modest Mouse is also good

I find Radiohead depressing. I had to stop listening to it, because it was such a huge downer for me.

Piggies by The Beatles is a happy song? hehehe. It’s about those in society that are ridiculously rich. I suppose the Beatles were socialists

My happy songs are from an album, it is called “Smile” by Brian Wilson. It is my favourite album, and I listen to it around once every two months. It usually puts me from a happy mood, into a very happy mood. Recommend it, A+++

Well, I’m pleased there are so many happy songs. But listening to depressing songs to make you happy, never understood that

Well, in my opinion, Radiohead songs are pretty beautiful, the lyrics have lots of depth, so when you combine the two (regardless of being depressing), you have some pretty happy  results.

May I also add:

-Missed The Boat, Modest Mouse
-The Arcade Fire, Crown of Love and In The Backseat.
-R.E.M, Everybody Hurts (obviously.)

I know what it’s all about, and that’s partly what makes it happy for me. I guess I like pointing out the world’s flaws…or something

“Son of a Gun”, originally by The Vaselines, and covered by Nirvana (I like their version better). Great song, and so catchy!
