Hard studying at school and lucid dreaming

Hey,

Sometime ago I stopped lucid dreaming - due to some personal reasons. Just had to do it and that’s all.

But now I’m seriously thinking of coming back to ld world and so on. But i know that it requires a lot of attention and practising (I foud it out for myself, no pratice = no results, sic!). Since I started a new school I was wondering if would be difficult, cause i have to study really a lot recently. Will studying have an influence on lucid dreaming?

let’s treat this topic as a general disscusion about school, and lucid dreaming. how do you deal lucid dreaming and studying?

[color=green]From what I see it depends on if its stressing you out and if its causing you to lose sleep. If so the odds are that it could possibly render your LDing some.

This is where an LD4all member with more seniority than me posts something wise or something that’ll help out drastically. Tips hat :ok:

Yes, I was thinking exactly the same way. Frankly, it’s stressing a lot - because this is the begging and the teachers are very demanding…

but as long as I can recall dreams lucid dreams are possible right?

I’m in junior year of high school, and I’m shooting for straight As. (B+ in two classes atm… disappointed Asian father would not be proud) Even with that much effort in school, I can still find plenty of time to type this reply up. Oh, and I can practice my DC too.

Although even when I completely forget about it, my sleeping brain just knows what I want somehow. My DC improves, and there was even one night like that in which I had an LD.

Also remember that there is a such thing as a random LD. You don’t need years of practice to have one randomly. It’s all in the brain, so you just have to change your mentality. If you think it will work, it will. If it doesn’t, you have doubts about it.

Coming from that logic, I think it requires little to no effort to get more LDs. After all, you’re doing the bulk of it while you’re asleep! Just take a handful of minutes before going to bed and don’t procrastinate. Do your homework and study during the day, not in the evening. It helps to do your homework right after you get home and finish it in one sitting. From there, take a break if you want, then study if you have a test/quiz in a while, or better yet, study anyways in case of a pop quiz.

Sorry if I’m being judgmental in the case that you aren’t procrastinating. I just complete homework faster than others seem to. Also, I don’t know what the school system of Poland is like.

Ooh, you have the same birthday as my brother!

I’ve been in this situation before as well. In fact, I suppose that I am in this situation now :content:

I’ve probably always been busy with school in one way or another, and looking back on things I think that what is important is how motivated I am to keep up with lucid dreaming…sometimes I am less busy than others (depending on what time of the year it is), but whether I’m busy or not, I never LD unless I’m motivated enough to make it happen. So I’d say that if you’re motivated and you really want to have lucid dreams again, this alone will help you a great deal

Right now I’m a grad student so I have a lot of time to sleep in, and this has been helpful for me lately because I’m trying to improve my dream recall. That’s also key of course…so, yes, you’re right; you might be very busy with school, but as long as you can get a good night’s sleep and you can remember your dreams you’ll probably be in good shape. It also sounds like you’ve done this before…that is also helpful, since you probably know some techniques and what to do, etc.

What is hard for me right now is actually keeping a proper dream journal…I spend so much time writing for school that writing down my dreams is kind of a pain right now. Of course, I should really just buckle down and start doing it properly

I’ve been incredibly busy with school for the past month, and I can honestly say that I never studied so much ever before. I’ve had no DR most of the time and consciously made the decision to not make any DR or LD attempts. Nevertheless I still somehow managed to have two LD’s. Now don’t ask me how I did that, 'cause I’d really like to know that myself. I usually always stop with anything dream related when life gets busy, but this time taught me that LDing and school can actually coexist.

I’ve had a period of studying to the late hours then waking up to suddenly at the morning. It ruined my dream recall totally.
