Harry Potter: The Half-Blood Prince

Oh god. Harry Potter fans shakes head there’s nothing worse than a group of Potter fans, particularly adults.

nudges both copies under bed

tsk tsk.

I have it, I picked it up and couldn’t put it down. 13hrs it took with all the breaks. (nice number) Best books so far IMO

Spoiler below. Highlight to read.
hAs far as Snape goes, Dumbledore was begging him to kill him so that Malfoy didn’t have to. So long as he doesn’t Kill Dumbledore feels that he has a chance to make the right choice.

That said, there is a very good theory as to whether Dumbledore is actually gone.

Why’d you do that!!! I’m no good with Temptation!!!

Ok, I couldn’t take it anymore…but not too much of a spoiler…thanks Dark Matter

My freaking friend just gave away the freaking ending and I had to beat him thoroughly to stop him revealing even more.
AAARRRRGGGGGHHHH!!! ***** ***** **** ** **** ***.
Ok I think I’m calm now, I still have 150 pages to go, but I was wrong about the half blood prince, Jimmy had to ruin the suprise for me /me whacks Jimmy with the 601 page book.

Here is the most embarrasing picture I have of him. Please laugh mercilessly.

Well, it WAS really obvious in hindsight, but I didn’t guess until the book actually revealed it. I was kicking myself for missing it before!

:grrr: no spoilers!

now i can’t read this topic anymore!

the bookstore just called, they have a copy for me :hurray:

Even though I’ve already seen it on msn messenger…

I still haven’t started. There was another one I wanted to finish first. (Pendragon: The Rivers of Zadaa) Now THAT is a good book! You wouldn’t believe the ending- marvelous! :touched:

i got it :hurray:

now to wait 2 days before i can start reading it… i want to read it in the garden in the sun when i’m on holiday. If i start now i will have it finished before we leave

SPOILER! HIGHLIGHT TO READ!

this is not actualy a spoiler. that is why i didn’t do the colour tags correctly. aint i a stinker?

Got the book delivered on Saturday morning and I am now up to p525. Sucessfully avoided reading Dark Matter’s spoiler  I would be finished if it weren’t for little things like sleep, work, headaches from intensive reading etc. It’s been giving me some whacky dreams though…if only I could remember them.

lol

I finished finally. Only so much to say without giving it away but OMG! I was totally off about who the half prince was. I assumed the obvious…When is the next one coming out???

Yeah I made the same mistake, I’ve finished it now and I’m kicking myself, even though my friend told me I didn’t want to belive him, and especially looking at the date, 50 years ago, it looked pretty obvious, but I was wrong. It was a cool ending but my friend spoiled it for me, he’s been getting increasingly annoying lately so we’re not not talking to him (childish I know, but I’m pretty sure it will work).

It took me 7.5 hours of uninterupted reading to finish it, and now I am almost sorry to have read it. It was just…Wow. Things fall apart, eh?

I’m only dissapointed it’s over. , and that Jimmy ruined it

Me too. Suffering from serious Harry Potter let down right now. Very depressing. I really want to know what’s up with Snape!

Phew! I’ve finished it now  Like all the previous books, this one had some pretty good bits in it - a good read. Without wanting to give too much away to those which have not read/finished the book, Snape was merely keeping a promise he was forced to make.

Yeah but that doesn’t excuse all of it! None of his actions followed one side or the other…even as a double agent…what he did didn’t really save D****. They could have gotten out of it some other way!

He could have been keeping his promise both to N and to D. Maybe the “Severus, please” was asking for something else, like to save S.

I read it in a day. I throughly disliked it. Rowling is really stretching this mundane cliche to as many books as she can.
