Have any friends who are also interested in lucid dreams?

The people i tell are usually interested, but too lazy to actually try it, either that or they try for a week and then give up.

But I don’t understand why people would laugh at somebody who LD’s. if anything, people who don’t LD should be the ones who get laughed at. they lay in bed and waste 8 hours of their life every single night, while we accomplish something, and explore ourselves, and if not that, at least we have fun trying things that could never be accomplished IRL.

Merged from similar topic. :dragon:
This topic is for people who have successfully gathered others into the word of Lucidity. Id like to start it off with stating how ecstatic I am that my own Dad
experienced it recently, for what I believe to be the first time ever.

Anybody else? Share…

I have a friend who was kind of skeptical about lucid dreaming and decided to wait and see if another friend and I could achieve it before he himself tried. Ironically he achieved lucidity before either of us…however I feel its at least partially because of listening to my other friend and me talk about it.

I got another friend into LDs…

I was talking to one of my LDing friends about one that I had, and he told me he had an LD too (but he was angry about it… trust me, I RC’d) Long story why.

Well, I had another friend there, and she meditates and stuff, and she thought she’d check out LDs and she and her friend tried out some methods.

She now has had a few LDs, her friend hasn’t gotten one.

Well one of my friends is interested in them, another told me that everytime they dream, they know they are dreaming… but they don’t do anything about it… I asked him why and he said after a while, it just gets a bit of an irritation realising you’re dreaming every time…

I don’t understand my friends

YES!! I talk about mines all the time with friends and a few of them have been veryi interested now and have asked me for help! I gave them some pointers and now they have been successful with it.

I haven’t managed to get anyone hooked on lucid dreaming yet  I don’t think they believe that they are real, like I’m dreaming it all up. They think I’m slightly crazy for doing it

My mother had her first LD the day before yesterday, the same day my husband also had an LD, his longest one so far. Must have been something in the air! I just keep talking about it till it reaches their subconsciousness and they have a lucid dream their selves and see how wonderful it is

I have one friend who also has had lucid dreams, however he is not into them enough to try and induce them. Some of my others think it is strange how I’m into it. Oh well they’re missing out.

That is soo true man. I think the majority of the people around me doesn’t even care about their dreams. That includes my mum and dad (My mum says she likes dreams and stuff but I don’t believe her  . I think she tells me that just to make me happy) Well, at first dad thought it was something I just read on the Internet that a dude just wrote down randomly to trick someone, but then he read an article about it somewhere and… still didn’t believe it. God, people can be so blind sometimes!!! :grrr:
My little brother is a bit intrested in LDing but, lazy as he is, he doesn’t want to read about it and makes me do all research. He barely knows what WILD is, though he claims he does. But that’s better than nothing. I’m going to hide all his videogames and MAKE HIM READ ALL GUIDES IN THE FORUM! MUAHAHAH!
Of my 3 best friends in school only 1 thinks LD is worth mentioning, and the other 2 doesn’t believe it. They think I’m crazy (Which is partly true LOL) but my other friend does think it’s possible. She likes those kind of stuff to, and whenever I find something new to do, she’s always with me.
But it’s only a matter of time before everyone starts having LDs and believes me!

I managed to get mt friend S. interested in the LD practice, I even gave him a brand new DJ for him to write, got all the advice i knew to get it started, but he doesn’t manage to write his direams down in the morning  guess i gotta wait for him to build motivation.

Aside, I tried to tell my bro (who’s 14) about it, but he thinks it’s not possible to control my dreams (despite of everything i told him!), so we made a pact: when i’ll be able to show him a backflip with wall aid, he’ll belive me (since I’ll be learning it in a LD). I’m eagerly awaiting the time i will actually learn it, but i must first build up my LD skillz ;D

My cousin, and the only one iv’e talked about it with, thinks is really cool and were doing it together.

Sometime ago, I told my dad about lucid dreaming in all about two hours. He said he wanted to learn LDing, but that was all.

I shared with a friend in school. He believes lucid dreaming is real, isn’t skeptical at all, and likes what I tell him. I gave him the link to LD4all, but I don’t think he did any research at all other than the time I told him to.

I have another friend who likes fantasy and stuff like that. Maybe I’ll find some time after the exam to tell him. I have a feeling he’ll be interested. Plus it’s a good thing to have someone to practise and discuss lucid dreaming with together.

I’m studying Acupuncture and a couple of my friends at college are into LDing which is cool… we chat about it quite often at lunch time. My husband is vaguely interested, but not enough to really do anything about it. The same goes for my parents too.

But, i do have two very young children and am trying to instil the idea that they can control their dreams (like if my eldest has a nightmare - he’s only 4)… i figure if they can get the idea young then they will have a skill for the rest of their lives.

When i first heard about lucid dreaming, i told my 2 closest friends who thought it was pretty cool at firrst but lost interest after about a week. I haven’t had a lucid dream yet, my aim is to have one so i can tell them how truly awesome it is and maybe get them motivated

I asked my parents what they thought about being able to control dreams. My dad said he wanted to so he could get rid of dreams altogether. My mum said controlling dreams would be too much effort.
I asked my 11 year old brother what he thought. His response was something like “do you have to ask? That would be AWESOME!”
Maybe my brother and i are adopted? He hasn’t said anymore about it, though…

I think more people should know about lucid dreaming. I always thought it would be awesome to be able to control dreams, so when I descvered LD4ALL I was soooooo happy. I can’t wait until I have my first lucid dream

I actually got interesting in LDs after having a conversation with a few friends of mine. I forget how the topic got around to dreaming, but 3 of us (including myself) said that we hardly ever remember any dreams at all. One of my friends said that he remembers quite a few, and can even control them sometimes because he knows he’s dreaming. The rest of us were fascinated and it turned into an hour or so conversation about lucid dreaming (I had actually heard of it before, so I knew what it was called). I had always thought it was a kinda random thing, but after hearing my friend talking about how cool it was, I decided to research it.

That was a week and a half ago, and I’m pretty sure at least one of them (the somewhat experienced one) is actively pursuing LDing almost as much as I am. Hopefully we’ll both stay interested and be able to share ideas and experiences.

My conventional friends (who are few… conventional, templated friends are boring) think I’m crazy or “wonder what you were smoking” whenever I tell them of lucid dreaming
