hazy LDs

ima beginner at LDing and there was a time where i was very interested in this amazing phenomona and tried and managed to have about five Lds that were mainly short because of waking from excitement and lacking total control. also i realised that waking up i couldnt recall completely the LD i had and the whole LD felt hazy and unsure. recently i got over the frustration of the quest for LD after watching “waking life”. since then i had one more LD which felt unbelievably real in the beginning but i woke up from overexcitement and in the morning the details were hazy and the whole thing felt unreal. Is it normal for one to have trouble recalling the details and realness of their LDs ?

Of course, it’s very normal, especially just starting out. That’s why most people will tell you to work on your dream recall by keeping a dream journal, and lying in bed for a few minutes trying to remember a detail or two about what you dreamed the night before. Remembering and writing down a detail or two will often help you remember the whole dream. Your dream recall gets better the more dreams you write down and try to remember. Luckily for you, this is the easy part, actually having lucid dreams is the much harder part for most people.

actually, I think thats a little strange. Normal dreams are definitely harder to remember, but I seem to have fantastic recall whenever I become lucid; your mind is “awake” right? So you should be able to remember, at least the lucid part of it. I find that remembering normal dreams on a night I do become lucid is very easy, though maybe thats just me. Anyway, good luck!

I agree with Yanielle. Remembering my LD’s is much easier than remembering ND’s. However, I will also agree with something that you said.

In the LD’s that i have, they feel incredibly real… until i wake up. Once I wake up and feel what real life feels like, I often wonder to myself “How could I mistake that for real life?”

So I think that that part is kind of normal for most people.
