First we struggle to recognize a dream as a dream. Then we try to remember that people in dreams are DCs. We may try to experiment with dream powers to control the dream.
However, the person we are in the dream, our ‘dream ego’, is also a DC! The fact that we think it is more real is part of dream logic.
For a higher degree of lucidity, try to treat your dream ego as another DC.
You can change your appearance. Or you can switch bodies with any of the other DCs. Or you can try and have multiple consciousness, be several DCs at the same time! You can clone yourself!
Or why not try to meet the true total dream creator?
Is that how it is for other people? As soon as I’m lucid I recognize everything as a dream. I do encounter DC’s which I know for a fact are not a creation of my Subconcious but other then that I’ve had no problems.
Just the fact that I’m dreaming usually gives me complete control over anything I want to control. I like the idea of making seven of me though I’ll have to try that.
I disagree. I know that my dream body is not real. But my consciousness is real. I have never experieced several consciousnesses, but it would still take place in my consciousness. And who I think I am outside or inside dreaming (my ego) will be the same. In the dream I might play that I am someone else, but, if i’m lucid, I know i’m not really that person.
Dream is created by SC - is this possible to met it ?
But whole idea is interisting. I am not sure right or not, but for sure interesting. As Krakatoa wrote, there is thing called consciousness, soul, or any another way. And this one stays same both in reality, and in dream. Person writing that post and dreaming about doing it, is still one person. Diffrence is that now I am really writing it, and in dream it happens in my brain. Now people are as real as me, and in dream they are only created by my subconcious (except for SD and SG). But still, I am real, no matter in dream or not. Knowledge when I am dreaming, and when I am not, have nothing to it.
From another way, idea of being few DC’s have already showed up at LD4all, not so far ago. Some people had that experience, as
crap, I’d bet that my headphones on desk just moved iself, I am tired or something .
when entering lucid state i think that you just brake the story your SC is creating, what makes the dream world like background (last impression of SC)that now you can change with intent and conciousness you have IRL.that means that you directly create story and if experienced you can change or involve in any mind game you want(memory search, problem solving etc…)but i dont think that you can become multiplied in a way that you have 360 degree visual or multiple thinking or anything like that.I mean ,you cannot even imagine what multiple bodys or toughts in the same time would look like, what kind of feeling would it be,and allso with presence of your good old ego ,that blocks your conciousness with fears, and ignorance in so many aspects of life.that ego is trying to preserve reality our body is used to ,so multiple egos would be (i think) impossible to manage just like that, and in a dream ,imposible to create.what could happend is that you could watch your multiple bodys from outside, but that is just controling DC s.being everything at the same time and knowing it is someting else ,and it is called universal being,or energy,or if you like ,GOD.
Just because you can’t imagine it doesn’t mean it can’t be experienced. Ofcourse. multiple consciousness is in my mind, not two separate but one divided, otherwise you couldn’t be conscious of it could you?
yeah, but what if 10 people askes you a question at the same time?how many of them would you remember?
I dont think anything is imposible,i just think that to be in higher level of conciousness is not easy as demanding it in LD.i think that it reqires a lifetime dedication and learning to be aware of yourself in that way.
How would you know the answer to that question if you don’t understand what it’s like. I don’t know if it’s just as easy as requesting it, maybe it takes some dedication and practise. But maybe not. maybe it’s easy. There is no point assuming it’s extremely difficult just because it seems incredible.
I have read of at least one LDer who had 360 degree vision in a dream. I can’t imagine what this is like
I have read several LDers who have had multiple consciousness in separate DCs.
Part of this thread is philosophy - that our normal ego is dreaming while awake, while dream ego is another form of the illusion.
In LaBerge’s 1985 book “Lucid Dreaming” he quotes a story by Narayana, where a DC challenges the dream ego:
LaBerge suggests it is possible to transcend the ego and reach a higher state of awareness. I am curious to hear of other’s experiments to go beyond the dream ego.
I can. I’ve had it in a few normal dreams and a few lucid dreams. Also when I AP I have full spherical vision, all the way around me, and up and down.
The only reason you can’t imagine this is because you’re used to only seeing with your eyes, in front of you. After seeing like that for your entire life how could you easily imagine seeing everything at once?
In an LD, I had conversation with other DCs, about the role of DCs and dream ego:
I am part of a family that has special powers. My father helps a man with car problems, he makes the car lighter so that it can be moved off the road. We can fly and we have other powers. We go into house and are sitting at dining room table. I look at father DC and mother DC. They don’t look like my waking life parents. Perhaps this is a younger version of them (dream logic). I look at dream father he has almost no neck. I look at dream mother, she looks like tv mom from fifties with complex hairdo and elegant attire. These are not my parents! This is a dream.
I want to talk to these DCs. I ask if they represent part of myself? There faces show disdain at this idea. Are you a representative of part of us, they ask my dream ego? I say maybe it is like multiple personality disorder. We are all part of larger self and have different roles to play. I provide leadership role when leadership is required.
DCs did not agree or disagree with dream ego, but we all considered the idea
