I never managed to stay lucid for more than 30 seconds, maybe up to a minute, but my normal dreams are very long. A few days ago, I had many dreams, all of them connected in a 'story. They took place right after each other through all my naps. If you were going to count them all as one, I’d say… four hours?
for me they could on for days but most of the time like half a day and its cool.
But I generally only normally happens in a 10min session of actualy sleep up to 30mins but not much more it tends to be when in the morning as rem sleep makes it not good conditions to lucid dream like the storm before the sun
Ive had years dream time, only last a few minutes, sometimes even seconds IRL.
I can have these whenever i want to, but they tend to take something out of the feeling of being lucid, like the exciting feeling is stretched out, and isnt as big a rush. So i dont do these all the time, but i do them occasionally, like if i have to write a paper in real life, and dont have time to think one up, ill write it in a dream, and then type it up the next day. So far ive had nothing but A’s on those
umm wow, i dont know how to explain it now that i think about it, whether it lasted that long or not, idk, it felt like a year, and i did the stuff that you could do in a year.
youd have to experience it to understand.
try going lucid and then saying, when i turn around this dream will last a year, that works for me, whether it will work for everyone idk.
the reason i said hard to explain, is because i went through liek a month RL process of dreams that helped build up my brain to be able to have those dreams, long and confusing, (by RL i mean month RL time, many lds over that period)
Retro you say that you can have a dream lasting for a year dreamtime, in which you did as much as a normal person does in 1 year, and that it might last as short as under a minute IRL? Did you check that on a timer or so? How do you know it actually toke so short? And if you do stuff that people would do in only one year, how do you adapt each day to your waking life? Because, then it would be like, living 1 year dreamtime, 1 day IRL, 1 year dreamtime, ETC ETC. Im betting that should be mighty confusing! IF what you say is really true (and yes, I remain somewhat healthily sceptical, which is nothing personal, merely showing interest), then you would have an ability that as far as i know, not many people have ever had (even those budhist monks etc, I dont believe they had dreams lasting years). Have you ever tried to write down a few days, perhaps a week, of your dreamtime experiences? I’d be pretty much curious to see what you did with all that time (perhaps you did post that but I might have missed it, I dont have the time to read the whole forum these days).
My longest LD probably lasted about 15-30 seconds because when I realized I was dreaming I was able to do 2 things before I got excited and woke myself up. I realized I was dreaming and opened a locked door then went inside looked around and changed the color of the walls, that’s when I got too excited and woke up.
I feel that it’s hard to really say how long a LD lasted. In my dreams, time doesn’t really seem to exist. Ya know?
