Last night i think i had my first lucid dream, but it didn’t feel quite right
the first thing i did was rub my hands and spin and everything got clearer, but when i tried to do anything it felt like i was imagining it. like trying to summon a person felt like they were only a shadow, and the dream was continueing like i wasn’t even there
then i lost my lucidity and woke up.
but i want to know was it a real LD or a dream about lucid dreaming.
sorry for my bad grammer and if i posted this in the wrong section
You mean a FLD ? Hmm… I don’t think so. If you were conscious then it wasn’t a FLD. I’d say it was a LD - don’t worry, first LD’s are always like that to disappoint you, but don’t give up. Next time do this:
Let yourself fall on your back with closed eyes and think about a place you’d like to be. If you can’t think of any just let yourself fall on your back. There are two things which can happen: 1 - you have another dream-environment where you are conscious and the dream has stabilized, 2 - you wake up.
I don’t know more options, but something else may happen too. I guess you had a low lucidity level LD.
i think the main difference is that with a lucid dream, you know you are dreaming. that is all there is to it. when you DREAM about a LD its called a FLD. this is when you are dreaming about becoming lucid, you act like you are lucid, yet you still are unable to notice its a dream. i used to get those quite often as i seem unable to realize im dreaming midway through dreams. from what you wrote, its seems like you were lucid, but it was probably just a very low level lucid dream. your first LD’s will probably be like that because you dont have very much experience or control over your dreams yet. hope that helps
Last weekend I’ve had my first real LD, immediately followed by a FLD later that night. Strangely, if you write those dreams down, there really isn’t much difference, but they sure feel different. In both dreams I did the same RC, thought I was lucid and starting doing stuff like floating, flying and telling people about it. However, in the real LD it really felt like a woke up completely inside a dream and was really be able to think things over about what to do next. The dream environment was pretty stable as well. Afterwards I was so excited about it, that I really felt like calling and waking up people to tell them about it.
The FLD may have looked the same and was even much longer, but the great feeling afterwards was really missing. Also during the dream I didn’t even notice that the dream environment (buildings, DC’s and location) changed completely a couple of times. This was clearly just dreaming about being lucid.
Once you’ve had a full blown vivid LD, you sure won’t be doubting whether it was real or not.
Yes this is the most important thing…you feel very real, as though you’ve taken complete control over yourself…n congratulations for your first LD…it will always be the most memorable one…
