Sorry if this has been asked before, but I looked it up and couldnt find it.
Can you wake up on purpose from a dream, and if so how? I remeber a couple of years back I knew that I was dreaming(before I heard of LDing) and it was like a nightmare, and I wanted to get out of the dream, but I couldnt. So now I want to know how to wake up, just because its interesting.
hmm, not sure if this works but maybe lying down (or in bed) and closing your eyes. THen tell yourself you will open them and wake up. I think I tried this once and it worked⌠sort of, took a few tries
Hmmm, close your eyes, shout it out, or instead of waking upâŚ
Why not change it if you know it is a dream? You could focus on a new dreamscene, will stuff away, make stuff to fight with, teleport, etc.
Hope this helps!
If you are lding then theirs much more fun to be had than waking up, infact waking up would be on the back of my mind, if your bot lding then being able to control when you wake will prove much more difficult.
I have coined a personal term for that. I call it âactivating the awakening triggerâ.
To do it, I just tell myself to wake up, or ask my SC if I can.
In the past, I used to have a series of dreams where something would happen (usually a DC would trigger it) to wake me up and end the dream prematurely.
You can do this, or just forget to stabilize the dream then do something thatâs very exhilarating
Iâve just told myself in LDs to wake up, worked 2 out of 2 times and followed by OBE vibrations (and one very short OBE ). Once i told myself to wake up in a FLD (i think) and got a false awakening followed by some false OBE i think, need to get my SC of OBEs. I wanna have them again but my SC is putting fake OBEs in my dreams now
In some of my normal dreams I would use a technique I call âX-cancelâ when I was about to die or get hurt bad.
I wouldnât know for sure that I was dreaming, but there was a looming sense of dread that instinctively caused me to cross my to index fingers and yell âcancel!â, as if it were some illusion I was trying to break out of, hence the name.
It hasnât happened to me recently, though. I remember perhaps ten or so instances where Iâve done this. I used to wake up and tell myself: âYou idiot! You could have had a lucid dream right there and then!â
I have that happen too sometimes. Itâs like the action carries over from the dreamworld to reality. Maybe too light of a sleep or something?
However, I have also had lucid dreams where I could blink and do whatever I wanted in terms of movement without breaking the dream. Usually the blinking lucid dreams have a really slow-motion feeling to them.
Ugh when I was little and used to get really bad dreams, I would actually physically open up my eyes as wide as I possibly could in the dream, and itâd usually work. Sometimes simply closing your eyes can wake you up as well, which can be annoying if you forget and accidentally do it in your dream laughs
Well if youâre lucid, the easiest way to wake up should be close-your-eyes-and-expect-that-youâll-be awake technique. Or, why not just change the dream scenario when youâre lucid? But itâs quite hard to focus when youâre having a LD nightmare.
Iâve always been able to wake from my dreams immediately, by simply opening my eyes. It never fails⌠If I have a nightmare, canât get the âbad thingsâ to stop, I just widen my eyes and just like that Iâm in my room.
Here is how I woke up this morning from an LD(nightmare):
Iâve opened the door, expecting to see something bad. So it did, and a big black something came to me. I kinda âstretchedâ by body, raised my chest and widely opened my eyes and I woke up. So, try to imagine yourself getting up(raising yourself like they do it on the movies when they have a nightmare)
