Hypnagogic repitition or rapid change as a gateway to LD?

I woke up for school this morning, knowing that there was a chance of school being cancelled due to weather. Without getting out of bed, I checked my laptop, confirmed that school had been cancelled, and went back to sleep.

While drifting back into sleep, I noticed some HI. There seemed to be a block of printed text in a pale green serif font. A chunk of the words changed for a couple of seconds, then changed back. This repeated a couple of times. After seeing this repitition a few times, I felt the telltale vibrations of SP and heard a loud buzzing.

(I have only consciously experienced SP a couple of times before, so I feel that this may be significant.)

After a few seconds, the buzzing faded and I was still awake, but barely. The HI continued. This time, I saw a colorful image, as if displayed on a webpage. The image changed, then changed again, and again. The changes kept getting faster and faster until it was a whirl of changes. Then SP came again, and faded as before.

It seemed to me like the SP was somehow being triggered by the rapid changes in the HI. Has anyone else ever had this kind of thing happen to them before? Could it be possible to induce SP through manually changing HI very quickly? I will test this as soon as I get a chance, but I want to know other peoples’ opinions.
