I realized I was dreaming, but I didn't take advantage of it

Last night I had what I considered a very clear dreamsign:
I dreamed that a very good friend to me was acting unkind and basically insulting me in different ways for absolutely no reason at all, and since he has never acted like that in real life nor has any reason to do it, I concluded that “ok this is stupid, he would never act like this so this must be a dream”.
Yeah, so basically I was getting lucid right there - the problem was that I didn’t realize what this truly meant.
I just figured out that it couldn’t be reality and told myself several times that it was a dream, but apparently I didn’t understand what I was telling myself. :eh:

Any advice here?

I recognize this actually, happened to me a lot as well.

I think the key is to do a RC at times like those, but I wouldn’t know how to, since, like you said, you didn’t really know you were dreaming.

I know it’s very frustrating, getting so close…

I have had a lot of dreams like this recently where I have been very close;
they tend to feel more vivid than normal dreams and I am often able to perform a few actions, like walking somewhere because I actively decide to do so etc.
But I still have to get past that ignorant “this is a dream, ok, who cares?” part and actually be able to fully realize the potentials. :tongue:
