I was trying WILD last night and.....

Last night I was my first time trying WBTB with WILD. I usually stay up to around 11:30 - 12:00 during non-school nights, and usually wake up around elven hours later (I’m not much of an early bird). Last night I stayed up until 1:00 doing summer homework, and set my alarm for 6:00. I woke up from a dream at 5:53 and went to the bathroom. I decided to sleep in the extra seven minutes before waking up. When I woke up at 6, I turned off my alarm and then started WILD. I laid on my back and relaxed. While attempting WILD I fell asleep for a short time, but when I woke up, I kept my eyes closed, I didn’t move, and my arms and legs were still numb. The inside of my eyelids turned “white” and the HI (or at least what I think was HI) became a lot more detailed and vivid. I had this strange feeling over all of my body (hard to explain), but after a few seconds the HI became blurry and the only thing I felt was the numbness in my arms and legs. My questions about this are

  1. What was this?
  2. In the past I’ve only been able to get my arms and legs numb. Was this progress?
  3. Did I do anything wrong while attempting WBTB or WILD?

I’m not very experienced with WILD but it sounds like you were entering SP. I’d say you did progress.

  1. The HI was HI, and the strange feeling of numbness, thats just from lying still too long. For most people, going into SP feels like being saran wrapped to your bed. If you can move, it isnt SP
2.as mentioned above, not really. It just means youve been lying in the same position for a long time
3.yes. its recomened that you sleep 6-8 hours before trying WILD, and you slept only 5. Other than that, you jsut have to relax, and start falling asleep, like relax your brain as well as your body, but still remember to keep decently alert so you dont doze off.
