I just had a RC-induced LD and I haven’t even done MILD for the night yet. I’m up right now for my “hour of wakefulness”, because I am doing WBTB.
Anyways, just wanted to share it with all of you…
OKay, so I’m in my room playing Oblivion for xbox 360 when I notice it seems like I have been playing for hours (which is not common for me). I start to get uncomfortable with the controller and then bend it and it breaks in half! I can’t see, cause it’s dark, so I go into the bathroom and turn on the light. The second I hit the light, I find myself with TWO controllers in my hand. I get suspicious and walk back to my bedroom doorway. I look at my digital watch, as I have trained myself to do, and hit the light button on it. When it lights up, I see the numbers are changing around very rapidly and I have a VERY strong hunch that I am dreaming. I decide to be safe, because everything seems so real, and do it again. Sure enough I am dreaming. My little brother approaches me from his bedroom. “Look at this”, I say as I’m lighting up my watch and showing it to him. “Woah”, is the only thing he says. “I’m dreaming and YOU are not real!”. I run downstairs, open the front door and fly into the sky. A minute later I awaken, fully energized for my “hour of wakefulness”.
This makes the 2nd night in a row! I’ll let you all know if I have another when I go back to bed and do MILD.
I went to bed at 8:00 P.M. Then I woke up at 4:00 A.M. from my lucid dream (I had my AC set to 4:30 A.M., just in case) and then stayed up for an hour.
I think I’ve actually become a little obsessive compulsive with it. Honestly, I’m too embarassed to even give a guess of how many RCs I did yesterday.
I’m actually up for my hour of wakefulness now, but don’t remember any dreams from before. I’ll just use my last lucid dream for the MILD visualization when I go back to bed.
the competition on this forum (quest for lucidity). It’s stickied.
I’m glad you are motivated enough to get out of bed for an hour. I’m so lazy when I do WBTB…its soo hard to get up, when I’m in my comfortable, warm bed. anyways…did you have any luck from doing it this morning?
No luck this morning. I only remembered one normal dream. I think a lot of it was due to the stress of knowing I had to take my ACT today. Now that the ACT is over with and Valentines is tomarow, I should have some peace of mind tonight.
I’d also like to point out a few extra things that have been helping with my rapid success rate:
I am doing the 7 day prospective memory training found in the book Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by Stephen LaBerge.
My M.I.L.D. affirmation is more specific than, “The next time I’m dreaming, I’ll realize I am dreaming”. It actually states under which circumstances I will become aware. I use, “The next time I’m dreaming, when something strange happens, I will become aware that I am dreaming.” Notice I changed realized to become aware. I did this because the word realize makes me think, subconsciously, of reality and that just confused me. Don’t ask why, it just did.
hmmm…I have the Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming in pdf format…and I havn’t really read it at all…hehe. I think I’ll give that 7 day training a look. Seems like its working on you!
EDIT: could you be nice enough to tell me what page this starts on
Yes! I won again this morning after WBTB. I at first attempted the WILD technique, as described in The Lucid Dreaming Digibook, but did not quite get to sleep. I then, at the verge of sleep, began MILD. The combination of those two methods gave me the priviledge of having an LD this morning!
Success at large! Now to update the count in my signature.
