I did the finger RC a few nights ago. It worked and I’m pretty sure I was lucid afterwards, but since I can’t remember what has happened before/after I wondered if I’m dreaming and did the RC…nevermind
3rd Task : Real-Time to-scale model!
In the third task, you will be able to see yourself from above - or below. In the best case even multiple times! Your job is to find a to-scale model of the area you’re in - preferably a miniature model. But this model is not static, it is a living area itself - and contains a miniature model of itself, which then contains another one and so on.
Make sure you have access to the outside world, which will enable you to see the miniature you, or the maximum you looking down at yourself.
Basic Task(s)
-
Locating, spawning or building yourself a miniature model of the area you’re in will give you+25 points.
-
If you can prove that this model shows your area in real-time (for example seeing yourself moving your hands in the model while your normal self does), you get another +15 points.
Secondary Task(s) and repeatable(s)
-
Perform a minor landscape change by ripping out trees, digging some holes with your fingers, destroying building by snipping them with your fingers or anything similar will give you +15 points.
-
Perform a major landscape change by moving a mountain, creating a river or lake by pouring water on the model, bringing massive destruction to the area or something similar will give you +25 points.
-
Looking for a person or an object? Locate it on the model, pick it up and place it next to you for +10 points.
-
“Jumping” into the model, which results in you being a giant, will give you +10 points. Alternatively you can get picked up by yourself to be a miniature version of you in a way-too-big world. Once you’re in the new environment, you can shrink or grow yourself to explore the same area again. You can do this task up to 4 times for up to 40 points.
You can get up to +10 creativity points for performing extraordinary things with a model.
The deadline will be 14th September, around 8 PM GMT when I post the next task. If you finish this task before the deadline in one week, you get +20 early points. This means you can earn a maximum of 160 points in this Task.
This task is loosely based on xkcd.com/878/
PS: The deadline is individual for everyone: If this is the last active task before you go to bed, the deadline is until you go to bed on the following day.
Hah, I actually was thinking of XKCD when I read this
I remember that one! It’s one of mah favorites!
Hehe, infinity scale this is gonna be interesting
After coming home from work last night, I laid down in bed and remembered to check the new challenge on my 3DS before going to bed. Unfortunately, I don’t think I spent enough time reading it for my subconscious to register what it was, because despite having a long LD, I could only remember the last bullet point about being big or small, but couldn’t remember how to do it for the challenge. My in-dream confusion was not pleasant.
But hey, at least I was lucid again and got to fly around a bit.~
Had a LONG LD last night!! i accomplished so many things including the task and my own personal task it was awesome!!! ill post a link soon
I also had a medium LD last night with nothing related to the LC tasks.
heres the dream-

i dont know how to make a “clicky” button so heres just the whole link
This is by far the longest LD I have ever had, it seemed to last at least an hour.
My degree of lucidity changed many times over the course of the dream, from fully lucid to just barely aware.
I did not know about the new task, and did not remember the musical instrument one. Still, it turned out an awesome LD
I wonder who my friend was in the dream, maybe one of you gals:)

A HELPFUL DC
I was flying over a street with lots of people in my ND when all of a sudden I realized that I was dreaming. I was happy, it had been a month since my last LD and I was getting despondent.
Because I had not anticipated or focused on becoming lucid I found myself asking what I wanted to do while lucid. There were so many things I wanted to ask the dream that I found myself at a loss for a few seconds. I then decided on a question which supposedly one should not ask, namely, “What is my purpose in this life?” I could not even get the question past my lips. My voice croaked and I found myself mute. The scenery changed into a grey mist again (it seems to do that occasionally) and then turned into darkness. I hollered, “Light! “ Nothing happened and I screamed it louder this time, I had my voice back. Finally the sky came back and I found myself among some people. I felt very sluggish and barely lucid but was happy that I had not lost lucidity. I saw a friend in the group of people, or at least I seemed to know her at that point, and I knew she was lucid too. She was in her late twenties or early thirties with curly shoulder length hair the color of sunlight. She was trying to fly but had trouble doing so. I told her to hold my hand and that I would help her fly. I focused on flying and effortless took her with me in the air. We flew over some amazing landscapes and at one point I let go of her hand saying that she should be able to fly on her own now, because she knew what it felt like now. She was having the time of her life and had a big old grin on her face. I showed her a few different styles of flying, including my favorite rocket style. All around us there were other dreamers flying and it felt great to be up there with all of them. One of the flyers was a young girl; I guess about 10 or 11 with a cute summer dress on that swished around her legs. After a while I felt like landing and for some odd reason felt like having a cup of coffee. My lucidity had dropped again to knowing I was dreaming and going with the flow, but barely so. We went into a restaurant but it was closing time and the waitress had already turned off the espresso machine. I found some ground coffee a mug and hot water, so I decided to make my own coffee. It was appalling! It felt like I was drinking mud! I spat it out and decided to leave the restaurant. I called my friend but she was gone. All of a sudden I was fully lucid again because I remembered what I wanted to do, namely talk in depth with one of the DC in the restaurant. I remembered something Robert Waggoner had written in his book about picking a DC to talk to, so I looked around for someone who looked aware and clever. There were so many people in the room and I stood a while observing them all, it looked so real it blew me away. As I turned around I noticed a very handsome guy in his late thirties or early forties look at me. He looked familiar but I couldn’t place him. I asked him, “Have we met before?” He laughed and said that I looked very familiar to him. I asked him if he wanted to go for a walk with me and he did. We left the restaurant and all of a sudden I felt at a loss of what to say. How do I talk to a DC? I knew I couldn’t just ask him if he thought he was real. I had read that some DCs get really upset and or mad when you do that, so I was thinking how to tactfully find out. Before I could even formulate a question the guy started talking to me about his childhood.
He told me that he was always afraid of something when he was younger, but that his dad was a very strong, harsh and no-nonsense kind of guy. One day he decided that his son needed to get over his constant fear and insecurity and he forced his son to break into his neighbor’s house. He ended up doing what his dad wanted, scared out of his wits, and got caught. The neighbor was a big mean woman and she beat the crap out of him, but he escaped. The guy laughed telling me the story and told me that he had never been afraid since. I laughed too. For some reason I got the impression that he might exist in the “real” world as well, and that if I ever met him, I would tell him the story and see how he’d react. The guy disappeared as I was thinking that thought, and I found myself in semi-darkness in front of a bar in an alley. There were a lot of shady people hanging around outside, smoking and looking at me in a non too friendly way. It felt like a test almost as if I had to get over some fear, and I decided to go inside.
It was even scarier inside. Everyone in the bar hushed up when I entered, and everyone was staring at me. It was dark inside as well and I felt totally unwelcome. I decided to just play dumb and put a big smile on my face as I walked to the bar, I said hello everyone how are you? As I got to the bar I asked the gal behind it if she had any coffee left and she said she did. I was happy and said, “I would love a cup please!” The second the gal said okay the mood in the bar changed. It got lighter in there and people turned around and started talking again.
I never got my coffee because the scenery changed again and I found myself flying through the town. I looked at all the buildings and streets and was amazed that I was still lucid. I was thinking that this was the longest lucid dream I had ever had, and that I didn’t want to lose it. I decided to ask the question again. This time I did have my voice, so I hollered, please tell me what my purpose is in this life! Tell me what kind of work I should do. Even though I did not voice it inside my head I added “work that makes me happy and that I can make a living with.”
As I voiced my question the dream changed again. This time I saw the dream around me as a painting. There was a harbor and there were ships and sailboats everywhere, but everything I say was painted in an old medieval way, like Vermeer or Rembrandt painted it. It was absolutely astonishing! Even the sky had that blue color they used then. It had a yellowish sunny tint that I knew was created through the use of urine. As I flew through the painting I knew I had gotten my answer. I did not know what else to do in the dream while lucid and decided to just fly for a while and enjoy it. I spend a while flying when I noticed some sort of zoo below me. The animals however were not of this earth. I landed to take a closer look at a “dog” I saw. It looked like a dog but its hind legs were split below the hip bone and it had 4 hind legs and feet. Its skin was slick and not at all like a dog’s, more like a reptile, a snake or frog. Each dog looked different, in various colors and patterns. Like some tropical snakes or frogs have. There was a little souvenir shop with hand carved replicas of the animals. I touched one and got absorbed in the intricacy of the carving and the smoothness of the wood. I lost lucidity and woke up. As I lay there I couldn’t believe that I actually got lucid for that length of time without doing WBTB or even planning on getting lucid.
I also realized that the dream not only gave me an answer to what I needed to do, but also gave me an opportunity to confront fear, something I had meant to do when getting lucid but had not thought of. My handsome DC kindly brought me to the dark alley
4th Task : Find Atlantis!
In the fourth task, your goal is to find the sunken city, the forgotten realm, the 'Blub-blub-blub, but you rather know it as Atlantis! Rumors go around someone (some even say it was a Lucid Dreamer who had an OOBE!) in the city left all the water-taps running, and so the city sank. Your quest is to find the city and revert the flooding - how you do that is up to you.
Basic Task(s)
-
Finding the ocean (or any other water place) and enter it will give you +20points. If you start in or underwater, you will also get those points.
-
If you can see the city underwater, you’ll get +15points, if you can actually get there, you will get additional +25 points.
-
Once you managed to get the streets and buildings of Atlantis back to the dry, you will get your +35points. The buildings and streets need to be dry. That does not mean you necessairly have to get it back to the surface - be creative!
Secondary Task(s) and repeatable(s)
-
Talk to the habitants of Atlantis and ask them how they experienced the flooding for +10points.
-
Atlantiants have cool pets and other marine domestic animals. Find a sea horse and ride it for +20points!
-
Some say that lucid dreaming works extremely well underwater. Find out if this is true, find a lucid dreamer and ask him/her! An answer will give you +15 points.
The deadline will be 21st September, around 8 PM GMT when I post the next task. If you finish this task before the deadline in one week, you get +20 early points. This means you can earn a maximum of 145 points in this Task.
When I poured sugar in my tea, a big chunk fell into the liquid. This gave me the initial idea to this task
PS: The deadline is individual for everyone: If this is the last active task before you go to bed, the deadline is until you go to bed on the following day.
PPS: I know I haven’t calculated points yet. I have not much time PLUS I’m a lazy person :[. I’ll try to do it tomorrow.
I live close to the sea so spawning a sea dream is not hard for me
Gonna be interesting to see what my mind comes up with
AWESOME!
Had a medium LD last night just before i woke up! I did alot of fun things but it wasnt until near the ned that it donned on me that i wanted to go to atlantis. I was at my house in the LD and i live IRL about 40 minutes from the coast and in the dream i started like scootering to the ocean or rather i was just hoping there would be an ocean around the block Hopefully next LD im already by the coast.
Finally updated my DJ. The only entries you need to pay attention to are Curse You Matt - September 9 (Task 1 Completed, Medium LD) and Lucid GACK! - September 15 (Short LD).
I had two ND’s somewhat related to the LC task #4 (one time surfing on a lake, the other time I found a river and swam through it), one of them turned into a short LD.
+1 medium length LD (I didn’t read the new task though, because I was on a dry spell this month). It was fun to be lucid again, anyway. I tried to test if it was a shared dream by making someone else lucid…I’ll find out if it worked later
I had an ND last night in which I completed the 3rd task, although only basically. I don’t have much time at the moment to write it all down, so here’s a short description:
SPOILER - Click to view
I’m in this video game or something in which I roam and solve puzzles to get out of this weird building-place. One of the puzzles include a room with turnable pieces of the model of the area accessible during that puzzle. When the pieces are turned, a great amount of din is made and the area changes according to it. It takes a lot of effort, but I get out after all.
