So last night I took a sleeping supplement, which basically has vitamin B’s.
I tried to WILD, but after the whole tingling feeling started I felt my arms and legs were heavy and extremely fat and chunky.
So I thought i was just very very close to having a successful LD. My throat began to hurt, as if someone was strangling me. I lay there for long, but finally gave up because it didn’t look like it was going anywhere.
Part of that will simply be your mind drifting. A lot of odd feelings are common if you’re attempting WILD when you first go to bed. A heaviness, the need to turn over, a need to swallow, etc. A lot of it, like the strangling feeling, is simply your body trying to go to auto.
Problem is, when you’re this aware of your body, you’ll focus on that which will wake you up more. When doing WILD at the beginning of the night, it really requires a calm state, almost like meditation. Even for experienced LDers, it’s not easy. For some people it does come natural, but I usually don’t recommend it.
You might try sleeping for a few hours first and then attempting WILD. It’s easier to fall asleep and much, much faster. You also tend to avoid less-pleasant aspects like SP or odd feelings. In addition to doing WILD later in the night, I’d also recommend setting an intention or using MILD when you first go to bed. You don’t have to keep repeating a mantra to yourself until you fall asleep; just do it enough that you get the intention in your mind.
