Tomorrow is Giveaways day!
Do you have the best strategy for unlocking the best subtasks?
After a few requests, today I am going to teach you something.
Firstly, let’s think about the unlockables.
Remember that there are three conditions that lets you to unlock subtasks:
- Unlock 1 Subtask: Complete your personal goal (only once);
- Unlock 1 Subtask: Every time you complete 4 subtasks of the same color;
- Unlock 2 Subtasks: Every time you complete 7 different colors of subtasks.
Besides these, there are the giveaways!
Limits
- Total Limit: 8 unlockable subtasks per participant;
- Maximum 2 unlocks per color category.
It is up to the participant to ask to unlock.
I have noticed a few people did not unlock after reaching some requirements.
This is totally valid because unlocking is both good and bad…
Therefore, someone must hold and only unlock later.
Why is that?
New unlockables are posted on Saturdays, but Tasks are posted on Wednesdays.
The task is secret before it is posted.
This means you might wish to wait until the Task is posted to unlock a subtask that fits the task.
Another reason to wait happens when you do not like any of the locked subtasks.
Then you could wait hoping to see a better unlockable to appear on the next Saturday.
Most asked question: “How should I choose a subtask to unlock?”
I have written about the choosing unlockables that fit a Task.
However there are other ways of considering these.
Let’s think of scenarios…
Then we define two yes/no variables:
- Easy to the unlocker (you);
- Easy to all participants (excluding you).
Now we have four possibilities:
- Hard to unlocker and Hard to all participants;
- Easy to unlocker and Hard to all participants;
- Hard to unlocker and Easy to all participants;
- Easy to unlocker and Easy to all participants;
1 - Hard to unlocker and Hard to all participants
When the subtask is hard to everyone, it is likely that no one is going to complete it.
I could post examples in the LC but people might be offended.
If no one completes it, there are no points to anyone. Then why unlock it?
This is the only category that is mostly useless. So you should stay away from these subtasks!
Unlockables do not receive bonus if they are not completed for a long time.
This means there is no big advantage on completing a hard unlockable subtask.
Then… you should try to identify when a subtask is too hard to everyone.
This ability requires knowledge on what kind of things are usual in dreams.
Therefore, LC60® makes your knowledge worth points as we promised.
Now that we are past the bad choice, all others are worth it.
Still, they always have their disadvantages.
Which is the best one depends on your strategies.
2 - Easy to unlocker and Hard to all participants
Unlocking subtasks may overwhelm the competitors and they may be unsure how to plan their dreams.
Now you have a chance to unlock a subtask yourself and only you would complete it.
Pro:
Since you suspect it is hard to everyone else, it is possible that only you would be able to earn these points.
You would earn both the success points and the shares. You would also complete its color.
Con:
However, as the weeks pass by… The sum of a single success is not too much.
Unlockables are not accumulative, therefore you can only earn points once from each.
3 - Hard to unlocker and Easy to all participants
You might not be a good dreamer, but you know this subtask is easy to everyone else.
Should you unlock it before someone else does?
Pro:
You earn shares. If the subtask is very easy to others, it is highly likely that you would earn points from shares!
But do not miss out! Someone else might unlock it before you do.
Con:
The owner only earns 20% of each success. Everyone else earns 100% only once.
While you might earn a lot from this, the other participants would have an easy way to pass you in total scoring.
You would only be equal to them in score (considering that you cannot complete the subtask yourself) after there are 5 (five) completions from others.
This could take a long time… it might not even happen at all.
Just because it seems easy today it might not fit the next task.
4 - Easy to unlocker and Easy to all participants
You have just found a subtask that is really easy to everyone.
Should you unlock it before someone else does?
Pro:
You earn shares. If the subtask is very easy to others, it is highly likely that you would earn points from shares!
If you complete it, you would also earn shares.
This means you would be the only one to receive more points from this task than anyone else.
But do not miss out! Someone else might unlock it before you do.
Con:
Unlocking subtasks allows others to earn more points.
Anyone who completes the subtask before you do would have an advantage of 80%.
Just because it seems easy today it might not fit the next task.
I hope this helps and good unlocks for you!
