I was thinking about this. I was comparing the quality of MILD and WILD techniques.
And I came to realization that MILD is better then WILD in long term so to speak.
WILD is a great induction technique but it doesn’t tech you anything for later, once you find yourself in a dream, it doesn’t prepare you for dream like MILD do.
Combining MILD as a foundation technique with WILD for inducing dreams should work very well. Guides for WILD won’t tell you to keep DJ or to do RC or to practice your mnemonic memory they will only tech you how to make a transition from waking state into dream state and if one is doing only that he may become very good at inducing techniques but the quality of the dream control itself wont be as much as good as transition.
In my opinion one shouldn’t learn only WILD because it’s very shallow technique for once you become actually lucid. So yeah, learn MILD too.
I’m saying that because MILD is a technique that doesn’t have quick results as WILD do but it pays off in the future. That’s why new dreamers tend to reach out for WILD because they are impatient and when they actually achieve LD then they hit another wall of problems.
Yeah, I’ve always mix techniques that’s what experimentation means. And that’s great…
But the part you can mix is only part before you fall asleep, right? Like mantra or autosuggestion… But what when you find yourself in a dream? Does your MILD kicks in. I’m talking about awareness, RC’ing, memory, etc?
Is your MILD knowledge dominant as WILD was at the induction of the dream?
Not only this, but some guides say (even if only implying) that “with this magic thing called WILD you can LD without having to work on your RC’s or having to write in that booooring DJ thing”. And that’s just bad
Nope. When I enter WILDs, it’s usually the OBE way and because of that it’s super vivid. The MILD part just helps me if I fall asleep instead of entering a lucid dream. It gives me a better chance of getting a DILD.
Then which part of MILD that actually is? Falling asleep?
Which parts of MILD actually helps you? I have to ask just because of comparison of the MILD and WILD…
When I’m WILDing, I tell myself that I will realize I’m dreaming when I see something strange. I just do this to pass the time as I’m relaxing. If I end up losing consciousness or just giving up, I have a better chance to get a DILD.
So this way if my WILD fails, which happens quite often, I have a good chance to enter a DILD.
Yes and that’s the part that I was talking about, that part of MILD is easy, it’sa autosuggestion and I do it myself, every night. But is you MILD practiced enough to get good quality DILD? I’m talking about mnemonic memory, RC’s, DR…
Because WILD doesn’t teach you those things, WILD only teaches you how to enter a lucid dream…
My DILDs really vary from time to time. Sometimes I have high lucidity, other times I don’t. I have never used MILD to help with dream recall, or to remind me to stablize the dream.
Both MILD and WILD really depend on the person by the way. WILD is easier for some people than others, and MILD works better for some people than others.
The advantage of a WILD over a MILD, is that as soon as you enter the dream you usually have high lucidity, and it’s quite vivid. You’ll be able to remember your goals, and what you need to do (ex stabalize the dream)
