My first lucid dream recently! Plus some questions.

Merry Christmas everyone at LD4all first off!

Well, I am pleased to announce that I believe I have had my first LD! Allow me to tell you what it was, because I have some questions about it.

I was at an amusement park, on a rollar coaster with my older brother. It was empty, in the morning like 20 minutes after they opened. I was on this water rollar coaster, and the people controlling it allowed us to keep going around because no one was there yet. So we did. As I went around, my big brother told me that he was dreaming, and I was in it. O_O I was like, wow, so this is what a dream is like… (I am not a firm believer in sharing dreams, but very gullible in dream land). So then I looked around at the scenery, and it pretty much looked like we were riding a coaster through the ocean. I saw a pretty big rock in the ocean and said, “wait I have to touch that rock to see how real things feel”. I actually said this, but I think I was bit confused in thinking I was in my brothers dream… So I stopped the coaster (somehow) and felt the rock, it suprisingly felt jagged and like a real sharp rock would feel. :content: The exciting part however is when people started to arrive and as we went around one more time I think… I saw Miley Cyrus, and I said to myself, “I don’t know about this”… I said, “This calls for a reality check, this is odd”, so I did my nose RC finally in a dream! However, it seemed to not have worked, I ignored its effect, in which I don’t remember if it worked or not. So then, that is most of my lucid dream.

My questions now…

  1. What does that mean that I thought I was in my brothers dream? I remembered obviously to check and see how real things were. I am thinking that I knew it was me dreaming, but humoured my fake bro. I don’t know though.

  2. What level of lucidity would you rate this? It seemed like I had little consciousness, and I have no clue how in the world I knew lol.

  3. What was with my brother telling me I was in his dream? No he wasn’t sleeping when I was either. -.-

  4. Any tips on staying lucid? Everything was beautiful in a waking life sense, like not fake and tacky like I thought it would be.

I am so glad I am at this point, I didn’t think I was this far along at all. It has just been a month of solid remembering dreams, and I have gotten much better. I am able to recall several dreams a night at this time. Just a few hours ago, I recalled 4 dreams, which I never had done before, 5 if you count the other scene at the amusement park. Anyhow, I plan on posting my dream journal once I get another LD. What a great christmas gift, finally knowing I am in a dream.

Thanks guys.

Hey! Congratulations, Inker!!! Merry Christmas to, it is a great gift, isn’t it? I had a LD the other day on my birthday, it was great… I hope you now kind of understand what I meant in the other topic?

  1. Maybe just a weird way for your unconscious mind to let you know you’re dreaming??

  2. No idea. I don’t know how to rate my few LDs either… so I’ll see what other people answer…

  3. Looking at the floor really works for me, I think. But there’s always the rubbing hands or spinning techiques…
I was wondering if it’s possible to get to a certain level of lucidity where you stay lucid “natually”, I mean, that you don’t have to worry about it. That would be great…

And from what I’ve heard (and from what I’ve experienced in my very tiny LD carrer), the more LDs you get, the easier it is to get other LDs…

I see, I appreciate the answers, especially on Christmas day! :content: Well, I haven’t gotten to the point where I feel like I am super conscious during a dream, or even the least bit, thats what it felt like. I also felt very mellow and flowing, not excited lol. I said “wow” really mellow like, and just flowed right back into my dream soon after.

It must have been pretty cool to have gotten an LD for your b-day? :content: Well, best of luck to both of us. I look forward to anyone elses input here, will check back later. I am actually in need of a short nap right now anyways, woke up a bit early from the lucid.

Thats the cool thing about my mind… When something cool happens in my dreams, it screams for me to wake up… xD

Thanks again Matt. Yes I know what you are talking about by the way.

EDIT: Where are my manners? Happy birthday Matt! :content:

I’m not a firm believer of shared dreaming either; my view is that because you are seemingly new to ld’ing stuff your dreams are gonna reflect that, not necessarily means shared dreaming if it is really possible. I’m not sure if it is called Day Residue or it has another name but let other answer this more properly than i did.

Well i rate ld’s by layers and levels too, i’d consider this a low ld even though i’m not sure if considering at ld at all, it seems more like a layer zero ld, which means is something like a FA, you talk about dream/ld but you’re not lucid necessarily;
When you did the RC in the dream, it never worked, so you were too low to recognize it, thus-LAYER ZERO/SUBLOW LD

Because your brother seems to be a dreamsign of yours, and someway you linked him with dreams, and a proof it wasn’t shared dreaming, you saying that he wasn’t sleeping at the time.

1.Rubbing hands together or just watching them.
2.Spin at your axis.
3.focusing at something in your dream scene.
4.try not to get excited.

Appreciate the answer Sueno, Happy holidays btw.

I haven’t gotten excited yet, I don’t think I will either lol. So then, everytime I see my bro, I do an RC? xD That would be every 5 minutes wouldn’t it? Also another huge dream sign are the characters of Lost the tv show… Been watching it lately. I have had 5 different characters appearing, 1 of them twice. =X

I am dissapointed that it didn’t work and was zero lucid, but I am still happy that I am on the right track. Any suggestions on getting my RC to actually work? Also a dream sign is whatever appears in multiple dreams right?

Thanks

I believe a dreamsign in general is anything that can make you realize you’re dreaming. I think we all have our own dreamsigns, plus some general things like flying, ofr example. If you’re flying it probably means you’re dreaming lol

I’v had dreams related to Lost to! there so cool, I can’t wait to get lucid in one of them!!

Happy Holidays to you too, and you’re welcome.

1.About the zero layer ld, don’t worry, it’s a sign of an upcoming ld.
2.For a RC to work you have to work on it in waking life.
3.already answered by previous poster.
a pleasure to help

Lol, none of my Lost dreams have to do with the show either… They are usually with one character, other cases more characters, and I go on a (less serious) mission for or with them. xD
