In a LD, does it truly look REAL? Does it look as if you are in RL but only you know it’s a dream?
In a ND, does it actually look real just like in a LD, but the reason it looks foggy is that it is only in memory, and not in the presence?
I’ve herd LDs can be life changing. How do they change most people’s life, and is it just having a LD in general, or is it specific dreams?
Although I’ve never had a LD, i’m working on it, and I had an idea. Would it work if I set a timer to wake me up every 30 minutes or so in the middle of the night so that if I have drifted off into a ND, I could start over and try having a LD again? (using WILD technique) That’s alot of chances at having an LD Plus if I wake up unnaturally, I would be more likely to remember an LD.
If I were to think I was in an LD, and decided to yell “Increase Lucidity” to become more lucid, is there a chance that I would accidently yell it out loud kind of how people sometimes talk in my sleep? Haha wouldn’t want to freak anybody out in the middle of the night.
You might want to introduce yourself in the Gathering sub-forum (is that what it’s called?) when you get the chance. I’d post the link, but I’m being a lazy bum.
Depends on your level of lucidity. Usually, LD’s look real, but sometimes they can be distorted or foggy. The higher level, the clearer the dream scene will be.
Sometimes it looks foggy, sometimes it looks like RL also. Sometimes it looks cartoony as well. As to why, I do not know.
Don’t exactly know the answer to that one…
Well, dream recall is something you certainly should work on. For starters, it would be good to recall at least 1 dream a day (I think… I don’t remember what the recommended amount is) and write it in a DJ. By writing the dreams in a DJ (or typing, whichever) you not only can refer to the dreams later and look for possible dream signs, but also tell your subconscious that remembering dreams is something important to you.
As to the waking up every 30 minutes, I don’t think that is a good idea. If I recall correctly, it takes about 90 minutes to complete a single sleep cycle. Not only that, but that would be tiring, and you probably would loose motivation rather than gain any… Plus, if you happened to have LD that night, the alarm would wake you, thus you would have no chance of doing much…
I remember almost all my LD’s waking up naturally. I don’t know about others here…
Don’t think so. I don’t understand how sleeptalking works, but don’t worry about it. I was timid at first about yelling that, especially when I WILD’ed into my own room, and I didn’t have very good lucidity for that dream. Plus, you could tell anyone who wakes up that they must have been dreaming.
Some LD’s are very vivid and they truly look real. Yet some others are bad quality, pixelized, blurry, etc.
I’ve the feeling you’re right, cause if you have a LD in the middle of the night and wake up much later, sometimes your memory of this LD is not so different from ND memories.
Hmmm… I don’t think it’s true for everybody. O yes, it changed something in my life, I became mod of this forum! In some cases, you no more see reality with the same eye. Some LD’ers started meditation, for instance.
I suppose it will be tiring in the time. I don’t remember this technique has been used before. It looks a bit like WBTB. It could work because an unregular sleep schedule could provoke SOREM sleep. I don’t know indeed.
LOL! No, it can’t happen cause LD generally happen during REM sleep and during REM sleep you’re body is paralyzed to prevent you from acting dreams. And though some LD’s may happen during nREM sleep, I never heard about anybody who had such a problem.
