We could try to host a challenge if no one else wants to, although it would probably need to be a simple one because of our limited knowledge of how the different things work here.
So would probably just leave it open to anyone who wanted to participate without making up a list of participants, and would just assign a new challenge each week without making up any polls, or asking for peoples personal goals, which would allow us to get it up and running faster, and would make it easier to keep track of things, since we would only be keeping track of how people did on the challenges.
And we would try to keep the challenges simple so that they would be easier to accomplish, and build people’s confidence up in their ability to accomplish things in their lucids.
So would just create our list of participants as people reported their lucids and task completions, so that no one would feel defeated from having signed up for a contest that were unable to score any points on.
Am thinking that the challenges could be something like the following:
Week 1: Take control of the lucid, and change the outcome of the dream
Week 2: Float or fly while lucid
Week 3: Use your imagination to create something while lucid, like a house, car, lake, animal, etc.
Week 4: Change the weather while lucid
Also, once a task is introduced, we would leave it open for the entire time of the contest so that if someone completes the task from week 1 in week 4, they would still get credit for it, since sometimes it might take longer than a week to complete a task.
And we would allow the tasks to be completed multiple times for credit, as long as they are in different lucid dreams, to allow everyone to rack as many points as possible.
Points could be awarded as follows:
Become lucid - 5 points
Complete a challenge while lucid - 10 points
Completing a task during a non lucid dream - 5 points
Remembering a task during either a lucid or non lucid dream - 2 points
We’ve never done anything like this that involves assigning points, and keeping track of people’s progress, but should be able to keep track of a simple contest like this.
We would also participate in the contest our self, but would not assign any points to our self.
We would start the challenge immediately, and introduce new tasks every Monday starting on 9/29/26, which would give everyone over a week to complete the first challenge.
Am assuming that we would just start a new thread under the Lucid Adventures, Lucid Challenge for this, and should probably call it something like MrEd’s Lucid Challenge to keep it separate from the more detailed challenges.
Let us know if that sounds feasible, or if anyone has any suggestions on how we might be able to improve it.
