Normal Dreams Vs. Lucid Dreams?

Quite honestly, I find normal dreams more entertaining that lucid dreams. They’re always random, and imaginative, meanwhile the lucid dreams I’ve had (around six now) have always been boring and predictable. Every normal dream I have is vivid, exciting and inspiring yet lucid dreams just feel bland. Do I have a low level of lucidity or are normal dreams just more entertaining for me?

What do you mean they’re Bland"? I’ve heard people on here say things like “The skies in my LDs aren’t pretty” or “I was just in my house th entire time…”

If you want to see something beautiful why don’t you try to teleport yourself somewhere that’s beautiful? Or if something seems dull then make it have vibrant color, or try to have things appear in front of you.

Some people can’t just make things like that happen, I can’t teleport or just make things happen in the environment.

Yeah, I know what you mean Zz. =/ I’ve only had one Lucid dream before, it wasn’t very good though… Short and I didn’t have any time to experience the world.

I just woke up in my room and I was really excited (yeah, I know but I wasn’t aware that you should stay calm then…) And I teleported myself quite easily, but then the dream faded.

But couldn’t you try to practice things like flying and making things appear?

Um, I watch the skies. They are pretty. I walk around, I make stuff. It makes me happy. I teleport and fly around to beautiful areas. It makes me smile and excited. Meanwhile in NDs though, I wake up and find that I’m in the middle of a highway, surrounded by blood. I walk off, find a bridge, and cross it to my house. I enter the door, masked men are standing there with a syringe in my brother who is screaming. I start attacking them, and save the day with incredible detail.

I just love the spontaneousness of normal dreams and how they can really inspire you; yet lucid dreams feel very scripted by the limits of your imagination.

There can certainly be more action in NDs for me too. It seems that the lower the lucidity the more random it gets. And it can be quite entertaining. But I usually don’t appreciate it until I wake up. Also in NDs I don’t feel as present as in LDs, that’s why I prefer lucid dreams. In them I can appreciate the dream while it’s happening, and it’s more exciting that way even if the events are not as crazy most of the time. My favourites are the ones where I have a crazy ND and become lucid. The momentum of the dream seems to persist somewhat.
I know that lucid dreams can be just as crazy, I am just too inexperienced to make it happen, my mind still wants things to be close to normal.
I’ve been troubled by the inability to teleport and have spent valuable lucid time trying to get out of my house and go somewhere interesting, this normal setting I feel hinders the randomness, since I know “everything” about it.
But I still like to become lucid here, because I can still do so much and there is so much to see right here. It may seem predictable but I never know what to expect when I walk into a random neighbours house, and especially if I walk through a mirror, providing it works.
It’s lucky though that we get to have both lucid dreams and normal dreams. We get the best of both worlds.

Yeah, I’m having doubts about my last comment now. I had a vivd WILD last night and I thought it was pretty amazing, though I couldn’t conjure any objects or change environments.

I guess you can conclude that it’s good to have a balance of NDs to LDs.

Lucid dreams are amazing compared to normal dreams. Just looking at the sky gave me a great feel of beaty.
Using special powers gave me a sense for once of becoming ‘God’. It’s not what you just do, but it’s the feelings you get out of it.
You also get to do what ever you want without limit.

However, I do see your argument with Normal dreams. I agree that their randomness and adventure are the rather exciting.

Is it possible that you can be normal dreaming about lucid dreaming?? Idk i doubt that happened to me since i made this certain chick appear in my LD.:slight_smile:

It happened to me recently. In a normal dream, I was in a street near my house and I was with 2 friends of mine, and I said to one of them : “Hey, I am lucid”. Just after that, I flew because the street in front of me was a slope.
Voilà.
But this was a normal dream unfortunately !
