Now I know what vivid means

Before, I thought I knew what vivid was. I was wrong. Last night I had an amazingly vivid dream. It was just like in RL. The lucidity was amazing too. It wasnt like my other LDs where I kind of knew I was dreaming, I was so aware it was like in RL. Amazing. The best part was, I didnt do anything. No MILD, no autosuggestion, it wasnt a WILD, it was just I went to sleep, decided to do an RC, and I could barely breathe throught my nose. It didnt last very long though. Any tips on how I might duplicate this situation and increase the length of the dream?

Awesome! Vivid dreams can take your breath away, right?

Well to make LD’s longer and more vivid there’s the good old hand rubbing, spinning and yelling “increase vividness” or whatever.

One I figured out a few LD’s ago that worked great for me is jumping jacks! Keep your dream body movin’, that’s what does it for me.

Dude, that’s awesome! :hurray: I never thought of jumping jacks, that’s smart. I did rubbing hands and spinning, but I’ll definitely try jumping jacks. I don’t think I ever had a LD that felt as real as you explained, congratz dude.

yeah but when I try that in other dreams it seems very distant and disconncected, like a normal dream. This one I didnt do anything except RC, and it felt so real. Maybe my dream recall improved

Maybe something you ate, that had a lot of Vitamin B?

That could be. I ate this one thing that I never had before in my life that is a cross between lettuce and radishes. Im gonna eat the same thing this night and see what happens.

Thats interesting…
Lettuce and radish ey? :eh:
This you got to keep us posted on =D

or just me

That sounds amazing O_O. I wish I had a dream like that :twirl:

Congrats! Try shouting verbal commands, as mattias said. Definitely try that food again :nuu:!

Maybe… you are on crack?

LOL just kidding

Its probably your DR getting better

I had probably my most vivid dream tonight, and i did an RC that succeded. But it was so real i thought “this cant be a dream” and then after 10sec i stoped thinking about LDing and continued it as a normal dream^^

Hi. Sorry I couldnt get on lately; my internet was broken. Anyway, it was the radish/lettuce thing. Apparently its called kohlrabi(messed up name. eh?). Every time I eat it I have very vivid dreams, but it has no vitamin B in it at all.

Quite a nice find, i guess the kohlrabi demand will increase quite a notch

I tried jumping jacks in my last LD and it worked really nice  I think i had my longest LD ever. It was around 11:30 in the morning and i had waken up around 08:00, when i exited the LD and woke up the transition between dream and awake happend quicker then usual, almost like my body had tried to wake up but jumping jacks in my LD kept it from doing so

Those vivid dreams are fantastic!
I remember one which I was in my grandparent’s house I meet my grandmother who has already passed away and I got lucid. I got really shocked and started talking with her while walking in the house and seeing all details. It was unbeliavable REAL. I remember seeing everything, it was really impressive… all the details were there.

Hope we all have more dreams like this

Kohlrabi gives vivid dreams? Interesting find! Can you tell how long before sleep you ate it, howmuch, how was it prepared and so on. I want to try and see if it works for me also!

LD’s are kinda like HD videos.

People say they are super crisp.
And then when you get an HD screen and see it.
It blows your mind away.

I love when nature and technology provide a good analogy.

I think one of the coolest/scariest parts about a really vivid lucid dream is how afterward it sits in your head like a real memory. It lacks an essential “dreaminess” of fragmented visuals or ideas. You can remember the ways your muscles moved, the temperature of the air, the texture of everything you touched… makes you question reality as we know it.

yeah, i’d like that too!

Kholrabi- German turnip. “[I]ts origin in nature is the same as that of cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, collard greens, and brussels sprouts: They are all bred from, and are the same species as, the wild cabbage plant (Brassica oleracea)”; “There are several varieties commonly available, including White Vienna, Purple Vienna, Grand Duke, Gigante (also known as “Superschmeltz”), Purple Danube, and White Danube” (wikipedia). The question is, do all the varieties have this effect, or is it just the one, or is the effect more widespread, perhaps even to all wild cabbage? Perhaps the Lucid Lab should start a series of experiments.

Vivid dreams are awesome, they are filled with a kind of giddy happiness and mystical vibration that you rarely experience anywhere else, if ever. Like a true awakening.

Whoa that’s an awesome find about the kohlrabi.
Hmmm . . . I wonder if they sell them in NZ?
Strangely, I found that taking the tablet Gliclazide increased the vividness in my dreams. (Gliclazide is used to help my diabetes, so please don’t flame me for taking drugs! ) Both my brother and my mum have found it increased their vividness too (both are diabetics).
