i dont think the same when i dream …
i dont do RC bcoz i cant control what i do or think in my dreams i just toally 4get ive been trying no 4 a loooooong looooong time and dose it work nope
ide love to know wha a LD feels like but it just llok like it not gunna happen 4 me well @ least i tryed …
goodbye

No dont give upp dude!!!

Seriously it takes time! It took me atlest 2 months before i hade my first really good LDs.

I think you have done a pretty common mistake. And that is that you have made this Lucid Dreaming thing a to big deal. Just like have it in the back of your mind. Do RCs as often as you can allthough. But dont make such a big deal about not having it right away. Its like sex. No need to hurry it will still take a while before its really good.

But if you want you can take a break and not think of LDing for like a week or so. That might help.

Don’t give up!

This happens to a lot of people, all the time, in fact! Just keep at it, and ask us questions if you need help. You’ll get there- I promise you!

:wolb:

Only four days? It took me at least 2 weeks! Come one, some people on this site haven’t lded at all! Many many months!

I have been trying this for a month with only one close success. I have had better recall. Don’t give up after 4 days!!

4 days ??
no 3 years !

Well then you are definetly doing some thing wrong

what am i doing wrong ?

Good question…what Am I doing wrong? Or anyone else? you’ll figure it out.

Doubt it
ide just love to have a LD but everything gose wrong 4 me so i never will

I think i know what your doing wrong. Your trying too hard! :ohno: I thought it was only me but know i am sure of it! Try not to think of it much. By the way you should never say NEVER. That way you are not bieng optimistic  . Even if takes a long time, stay positive.

Another thing which a lot of people said is true. When you give yourself a rest  from LD, you will get one. My first LD happened with me thinking almost the same thing.

So just go to sleep tommorow without thinking “oh today is the day”. Give yourself a time out from LDing, sleep without thinking about LD for a week

Don’t panic if you don’t get a LD during your time-out. Just go back to trying to LD.

Good luck - don’t worry you will thank everyone who posted in this thread soon :good:

still nothing :eh:

Listen, you are being an extreme pessimist. How you’re able to do anything in life by giving up so fast is a mystery to me, so stop thinking you’ll get an easy ride.

end of rant

Amen.

we help people who want help, not people who want sympathy cards. i’ve worked my butt off for 2 years to get 3 lds, of which 1 was decent. and it was -totally- worth every minute of it. and i’ll remain here with enthusiasm till the end. you need to adjust your concious state of mind before you even worry about your lucid mind.

They speak the truth

If you believe you can’t do it, then you can’t do it.

If you believe you can do it, then you can do it.

If you truely believe you will do it, then you will do it.

It isn’t a fairy-tale psuedo-parable when people refer to “believing in yourself”. It has very practical, very real consequences. It’s just the way the mind works… especially when dealing with something that is entirely mentally based such as LDs.

This concept has basis in science, and has been tested extensively. People who believe in their well-being have greater health, and have a greater chance of beating terminal illnesses. People who believe that the pill will cure them have a better chance of being cured, even if the pill is just a sugar pill!

Edit: In addition… what methods are you using?

Personally, I’d focus on the WILD method if you can. It’s more active for the person attempting it, even if it can be difficult to allow yourself to fall sometimes. I’ve found that practicing it improves the rate of MILDs that happen by chance, because you’re in a more LD state of mind all the time.

Try reading about LDs for at least 20 minutes every night before going to sleep.

Most of the time I read before I go to sleep I have dreams influenced by what I read.

If you read about LDs and think about them while your goin to sleep you’ll probably have a better chance of having one.

Try a WBTB reading about LDs while your awake and then thinkin about them as well.

Maybe this would help you a bit more. You keep asking what are you doing wrong. What are you actually doing? What induction methods do you attempt? Do you just sit back and wait for an LD? This works for some people but not for the majority.

You’ve been trying for a long time if you have actually been trying very hard and not just sittin back waiting for one maybe it is time to call it quits. I’m sure you will have an LD but if its not working after years of trying it will probably just come randomly and naturally.

Now here we have a perfect example of a person who has created a mental barrier for themselves by being pessimistic. Please read my article, it might help you out. https://community.ld4all.com/t/pessimism-a-self-imposed-obstacle/21956

Here’s the thing–what will you gain from not trying anymore? A couple of minutes in the morning because you’re not DJing? A couple of minutes in the middle of the night because you’re not awake recalling dreams? LDing may be difficult for you, but it’s not something that has to consume your whole life.

I think you’re afraid to keep trying and still not succeed. Can’t say I can’t relate to that, but that’s useless thinking. If you continue trying, honestly trying, you DO have a chance of LDing. However small you think that chance is, you DO have a chance. If you don’t try at all for the rest of your life, the odds go down to about zero. A small chance is better than no chance at all, methinks…

You haven’t elaborated on what techniques you use. Explain the things you’ve tried and your experiences with them, please!

Good luck!

Agreed. I’ve been doing this about a month and a half, three days a go I finally had my first one. It lasted 45 seconds.

Thats huge, the techniques. If you’ve just been doing them for a week, you probably haven’t found the thing thats right for you yet. Honestly, it takes time. But it IS worth it. And whatever, its like, if you fail, you don’t lose anything. But if you succeed, you have limitless potential for improving your life in lucid dreaming. As well as being more spiritually connected with yourself and the ones around you.

BTW, Read some positive-thinking books, they could help you.
