On Psipog. "The truth will set you free."

Let’s try a different approach…

For those of you who don’t believe in psionics (I really hate using that term, it is just so all encompassing that it is hard to pin down)…

What is the closest thing to conclusive evidence that you still don’t believe?

Let me clarify. Was there something you read, experienced, saw, or perceived that raised your curiosity level? Was it left a mystery? Did you figure it out? If so, how? Was there something intriguing that didn’t convince but could have under different circumstances, or got kind of close?

There are things that have happened in my life that I cannot explain. Can I say they were from some kind of “psychic energy?” Not really. Maybe they were. Can you say that you can fully explain everything you have ever seen?

If so, congrats, you’re smarter than me

Well, the thing is shaking my belief in telepathy, empathy, and seeing the future etc., is the fact that I’ve tried it before with people on chat, and I’ve gotten no results at all. But I still believed in it for the most part - until I saw the high scores of some of the psychic tests out there. (The ones where it asks you what card is underneath the grey image).

No one ever gets above normal probability, which is like 30% or something. (I could be making that up - I don’t remember the number entirely). I thought, surely if this stuff was real, someone would have gotten at least half the question on the tests right. But to the best of my knowledge, all the hi scores I’ve seen haven’t had anyone score very high. If you do know a hi score that will prove this to me, please give me a link.

Once again though, there are certain aspects of seeing the future I believe. I believe spirits, ghosts, demons etc. can tell you the future, and do thing like telekinesis for you (not to say you can’t do it yourself). But I’m not about to trust random spirits I meet… I’m talking about magick here, and I warn people to stay away from it…

Almost 48 hours and only 1 response. I guess I asked the wrong question

Either nobody has done enough digging or they’re just not interested in exploring both sides of the argument.

It seems that something had to originally spark your interest. Or was it just a “wouldn’t it be cool if this were real” feeling?

Either way, it continues to be the norm. All dissent and very little thought out arguments against those who try to explore.

Paradise, See you at the Simpson’s movie this weekend

You mean what brought me to the site? The stories about an “energy” in oriental cultures (see Ki or Qigong), and about its alleged properties and explanations.

And yes, it would be “cool” to manipulate the weak-minded, people having no more secrets to you, and all the other things I’d use only for the sake of harming people and personal gain.

About arguments, I think I made myself clear in my last post. I may chcek out news about it every now and then, but not on Psipog, and I won’t believe in anything until it’s confirmed.

What got me interested? Well, mostly since I started martial arts. The more I did it, the more I liked it, and I learned about other styles like Qi Gong, and Tai Ching, Dim Mak, and acupuncture, and subsequently I wanted to learn more about Chi, or Qi, or Psi, and wanted to learn how to heal with it. Of course that led me to discover things like Chi, or Psi balls, and that led me to psipog… and etc.

The next thing will be that TRJR is in reality N_I… LOL

Eh?

I doubt anybody else shows up, they care even less about what people think of psionics. Or perhaps I should say they’re done proving it to people at this point.

:grin::tongue:
hehe yea it seems interest has gone down a bit and it’s alway the same people posting .hey could YOU maybe make a vid ?
maybe flouting a pea or something would be convincing  it would be believed by more since it’s coming from an LD4all member…

I was never that great at TK, too much practice required. I haven’t practiced it in a while, but I might try it again. If I get back into it I’ll make a vid.

I don’t really buy into any of the metaphysical aspects of psionics and I think it probably avoids the meat n’ potatoes of why one should meditate or explore the depths of the psyche. But if it’s motivating someone to practice and learn more about themselves I suppose it’s not such a bad thing, much like any other belief system. I do believe we all have intuition to some degree, but not in some particularly fluffy way. Just that we’re sometimes able to perceive what may come with less information, like seeing 1 and 2 in a series and already having a sense we’ll get to 5 if we keep going. There’s nothing magical about that skill.

I think it’s fairly common for us to confuse our subjective experiences with external reality, and there have been a great number of people throughout history who have taken advantage of this tendency, for better or for worse. Some of them may have been convinced themselves while others were trying to convince themselves and others still only saw a way to manipulate the masses.

man i saw the vids… and its so easy to make you just need a magnet… how lame

moving paper ? with a magnet ? …

wind
and the one under the glass had something under it that rotated with the paper

Too many times tricks like these have been proven to be hoaxes for me to still believe in them.

To be precise, always.

yep if you believe everything you see on the internet you might as well believe that this man is a wizard…

youtube.com/watch?v=tScm-eZInBE

and why would you believe psipog and not this guy???

Exactly

…and I know it’s off topic but I LOVE that card trick :content:

[edited]

i would first have to ‘feel it’ myself b4 i could believe it…
i cant just believe something like that by being told that it’s true or by some vid…
not eaven if someone showed it in front of me, like a lot of card tricks they show it to you and still you cant figure out how the hell they did it…
but this is obvously a trick with a magnet of something

and its not about if you know how the trick works since you were 7, if they tell you now how they did the trick with the moving paper and phones this would be just as much a trick as the cardtrick

I don’t.

That’s the main point. No certified proof, no party. Seen thousands of things like that.

ASmattman confessed that he faked Psiwheel Under a Glass Container 2.

The videos prove nothing, and I think that you are falling into the fallacy that if the videos are clearly fake then the same can be said of the rest of Psi.

What will get people interested is the amount of people who claim to be capable of these feats. Saying that every single one of these people is either a liar or insane is just not fair.

I don’t personally believe it, but I say that Psionics is not nearly as bad as Organized Religion. Choosing the Lesser of two evils, meh.
